Nugs - Thunder was fun, but man, Westbrook took some baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad shots there. The lane was wide open on one of them, and he retreated outside the arc for a 3. Then he airballed a 3 on their last possession.
Normally I feel like I know the result of every opening round series but I am *still* not sure I know how a few of these will go. I think the Spurs will likely lose. The biggest difference in their game vs the regular season is that their 3pt shooters are being properly closed out on, so their main weapon has been nullified. Tony Allen and Battier are HELL ON WHEELS on the perimeter. If you or I were playing out there, we couldn't even receive a pass I bet. So the likes of Matt Bonner has gone from being a fairly serious player to an absolute waste of playing time. Manu and Parker are having to work like crazy to create anything, and they are wearing down. Whereas the Grizz are having a very easy time creating shots because Randolph has suddenly started playing like Vlade Divac, hitting cutters from the low post. In addition to of course dominating on the offensive glass and scoring at will. 5 or 6 years ago Duncan wouldn't have even felt him or Gasol in there, but now they are just walling him up and he can't do much about it. Great regular season team, poor playoff team.
I don't want to count the Spurs out, but they look beat. At this point, they have no tricks left to try. The Grizz are handling everything they can throw at them, with ease.
Dallas - Portland should go 7, but I still give the Blazers the edge. It's looking like the Roy game was indeed a fluke though. I'm sure they will be going back to Aldridge big-time for game 6.
Hornets - Lakers tomorrow
(The Hawks have no fucking shot of getting out of the 2nd round. None! Get that shit out of here
)
