These eastern conference playoffs are gonna be great. They were really good last year too but you'll have several legit contenders (aka best team that isn't the Warriors) this year as opposed to LeBron vs. EC field so I'm excited.

This has been a rough season to watch as a Lebron fan.

Which is part of the reason for my lack of posts in this thread.

Unfortunately its hard for me to see things improving that much. It's basically the Kobe 2.0 situation. Star player on big contract on a crappy team. That's not exactly the hot spot free agent destination.

This is why I wanted him to go to philly. Those young guys are ready compared to the Lakers who are seasons away. The decline process has begun yet he still has to do all the heavy lifting on a squad like the lakers.

When Zion Williamson goes into beast mode I can see those comparisons to younger LeBron. Only plus like 70-80 pounds.

He's got that same absurd hard dribble move that LeBron and Kawhi have where dudes can't take it away but desperately try for some reason even as they're being knocked away from the force of the body hitting them.

Never understood Hollinger being with the Grizz. As one of the original advanced analytic guys, they never seemed to follow that path when constructing the team.

As far as Walton, I could have went either way. On one hand, he was given three seasons and that's longer than some coaches are given. But he wasn't responsible for the poor team construction which put together a lot of pieces that didn't fit. My issue is that I fear they are very much likely to bring in a player coach who handles personalities rather than implementing and establishing a system.

WOO PLAYOFFS. Was kind of hoping for a Heat miracle, but alas. Should be a pretty good playoff, lots of interesting matchups and interesting teams. Dubs likely got it but who knows.

Lakers are way more of a dumpster fire than expected, they may have scraped in if not for the injury/AD bait. Handing the team to Bron may work, but they'll likely need to go back to having supporting shooters while he shoulders the load till the wheels come off. Kinda want him to get another one though.

Has been kind of a busted season for me with AD kind of blowing up the pels, who knows what future holds. I am getting daily emails for season seats/packages though so that's nice I guess.

The implicit pressure that came with coaching the team became far more direct after L.A. limped out of the gate 2-5. Johnson dressed down Walton in an explosive meeting, demanding immediate results. As damning as Walton's early-season meeting with Magic might have been, the true death knell came when he was left out of LeBron's exit meeting with Johnson and Pelinka, conducted several days before the end of the season, according to a report by ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.

When the Lakers arrived in Philadelphia after the trade deadline, Johnson came into the locker room about 30 minutes before tipoff -- the time usually reserved for the coaching staff to go over the game plan -- and had an announcement for the team.

Johnson reasoned to the players that the fact they weren't traded meant the Lakers wanted them more than any other team did and then tried to rally them together, declaring his goal of making the playoffs.

The message fell flat, sources told ESPN.

"It was bad," one source said. "It was bad." Another source was sketchy on Johnson's exact message because, well, he "tuned the m-----f----- out."
