RDR had no race cars or helicopters, shit game

It's a very restricting game. You can't even swim. smh. I still don't get all the praise the game is getting. GTA4 is waaaaay better.
Western theme is so boring. Good thing I wasn't born during that time. Would've probably died of boredom.

i'm just messing with you, it's all personal preference, i love westerns so i find it endlessly entertaining

Sorry, Eel but "You can't even swim" in a Wild West setting is beyond personal preference.  It's just plain distinguished mentally-challenged.

tbh, the swimming thing bugged me a bit when i was crossing a stream and all of a sudden my horse and i both drowned when neither of our heads were under water

Well then, use a trainer with the PC version.

According to Smooth Groove, people don't need the ability to swim in a place where there's not a lot of water to be found.
Now that is distinguished mentally-challenged. When I see water in a game, I want to swim. Letting my character and a fucking horse drown in a puddle is cheap and stupid.

Will you shut the fuck up about the swimming?

I knew the character couldn't swim. I died once. What's the problem? That you were dumb enough to try it multiple times?

I don't think anyone disputes the water thing is dumb. But then the game mostly has almost no water missions and the game isn't really focused around water. big deal. It's one thing. It's not even in my list of top 20 things I could complain about in the game. But Third gets talking about it like the game is fucking waterworld. Not to mention his dumb thing about I hate westerns so I bought/played a western game!

I hate RTS's games! Guess what. I'm not buying Starcraft 2!

I'd love to see horses in GTA, though. Imagine crashing a car into one. :drool

I had to try out RDR because the hype got to me. I'll never play a wester game again. I'll only play a western game when there's fiction involved, like swimming. :teehee
Something like Stranger's Wrath I like. Western themed, but very playable and interesting.

i'd probably hate it if it weren't a western, honestly

my love of the setting goes a long way towards helping me overlook stuff like the terrible "natural motion" movement which results in comically running around the bottom of a ladder 3-4 times when you're trying to climb it, and the sticky cover system which decides to affix you permanently to a rock and spin you around directly into someone's line of fire

I'm pretty consistent. I liked GTA 4 and I liked RDR although I think RDR is a superior game on pretty much all fronts. Both janky games. But plenty of games are janky including some of the all time greats.

Since steam doesn't release sales numbers its actually fairly difficult to know how much it would sell and especially at what price. At least for regular people.

People who have the data at the actual companies are in a different situation of course.
