This game brings to mind the image of Japanese businessmen sitting around a conference table and looking at the sales of Call of Duty, Halo, and Gears on the 360

and then coming up with this idea to get a piece of that pie.

I figured this game out:

Rockstar approached a small Japanese developer to turn MANHUNT into an MMO. They got to the first playable, and the deliverable caused several R* executives to have an aneurism. Like a collective aneurism, where a whole room of Scanners or Witch Mountain babies were actively messing with their brains. In the aftermath, the project was abandoned, only to be scooped up by... who's publishing this again?

I'm not sure whether to be happy or sad. On the one hand, I would have liked to see how crazy this would have turned out, on the other hand this game looked pretty :lol and is probably better off not seeing the light of day.

I think that would require that it works. I suspect they were showing off the footage of what worked, spliced together as attractively as possible. But it was a network-centric game, wasn't it? Since when does a Japanese company understand networked games beyond Monster Hunter Ad Hoc parties?
