In which case, the bad faith that was sewn has reaped no emotional response whatsoever. Either way, they don't get what they want, and I am satisfied.

Quote from: Linkzg on August 30, 2010, 04:21:16 PMcouldn't they just offer a free XBLAH game to make it seem somewhat reasonable? I only saw one page on gaf, but people defend it by saying things like "it's just $10". $10 gets you a game, or did before downloadable game prices increased by $5. Give gold subscribers Trials HD for free; increase the value and culture the audience in one swoop Why would they give away something for free when arguably this will have no effect on their bottom line? (negative effect I mean) It's a business. And whether I want to pay that price or not only concerns them on the bottom line. I mean I have no problem with somebody saying they don't want to pay for online gaming. That's cool. But I always find it weird when people still sort of think these companies are our buddies or make decisions based on being our friends. This goes for all of them. This is like internet fodder that draws big threads on gaf but ultimately doesn't matter. In the end it is $10. If somebody wants to pay that. They will. (me) If they don't they won't which is also valid.

All I meant was that some people are slow enough to think that an extra item increases the value. No different than "I got Wipeout HD for free with PSN Plus! I just have to pay $50 a year to subscribe". Maybe it is just their justification for buying that stuff, or maybe it was what put them over the edge. I just think that, potentially, there is more to gain than lose if they offered an old game as part of the package. I don't think it is unlikely if only for that time Microsoft gave away that scuba game when Live went down for a bit.
This price increase only affects Xbox LIVE Members in Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom or the United States.

Another thing gamers will bitch and moan about, but continue to pour their money into.

Not even necessarily an attitude you were displaying per se but one that I've seen voiced. The only reason that thread over there is so big is because its just another front on the console war.But from a legit standpoint the only reason they would offer something for free is if they see a business benefit to it. And for them I'm sure this is a pretty easy one. This isn't bad enough from their perspective that they need to do such a thing. MS only gives away something for free when they think it needs a boost that free marketing gives it, or its a loss leader. Like adding ESPN. For them to give away something right on the heels of raising the price is like admitting they are doing something wrong. And they would never ever do that because that questions the very idea of paying for Xbox Live.
Who got them from me. Dont worry, you can be last in line to top me off...
XBL until 2012(Image removed from quote.)
Renewal date: 24/01/2013
I'm only paid up until November 2011. Better get a job, then. :'(
I've started just getting a month when a game comes out. After a month, I'll probably get rid of it anyhow.
So people paying $50 for Playstation Plus and now MS increases XBL by $10 dollars :'(

A much better value than Xbox Live. How are those games FREE?
