Quote from: Hollywood Reporter
A mesmerizing, bewildering and infuriating protagonist makes this movie about Facebook's creation a must-see.

Quote from: New York Post
It’s the finest film in many years to open the New York Film Festival.

Quote from: Variety
Continues Fincher's fascinating transition from genre filmmaker extraordinaire to indelible chronicler of our times.

Quote from: indieWIRE
On a first viewing, it seems almost indecently smart, funny and sexy. The second time around... half the time I sat there marveling at the similarities of the story, themes and structure to Citizen Kane.

Quote from: Screen Junkies
The Social Network is the movie of the year. If Coppola were into computers, this would be The Godfather.

Quote from: Boxoffice Magazine
As socially significant to this generation as films like Network, All The President's Men and The Graduate were in their own time.

wtf?  why?

He needs to do serious roles again.  The dude is actually GREAT in Alpha Dog and Black Snake Moan.  GREAT.

Edit: it's just too bad he usually gets put in shit movies.

Opinions will vary. I thought he was dogshit bad in Black Snake Moan and outside of dick in a box I always detest when he is on something like SNL and being "funny". Never saw alpha dog.

Good pop singer though. I think he should stick to that.

Justin is a good 'actor' essentially because you always get the feeling he is being himself in some way.

I hate him in funny roles.  He's absolutely terrible in those.

But I thought he was pretty good in Black Snake Moan.  Not enough screen time or character development to really see though.  And his character was hokey as it is.  But in Alpha Dog I thought he did a great job.  More serious, assholish roles please.  He is a pretty great pop singer too.   :-[

i think it's just been an increasingly downhill roller coaster ride after WW2 and everyone riding the coattails of America's real glory days while our society as a whole just gets worse and worse while thinking they're better and better.

Audie Murphy is more of a man than you'll ever be.

Probably you can blame the later generation for being so bad on him, he was just too awesome. People were like "Dang, man, we're never gonna be that awesome, might as well not even try." And then they smoked weed.

Audie Murphy is the shit!  Never said he wasn't.  But outside of WW2, our military empirical conquests have been rather lacking and downhill since then.  Now our inventions, military weapons and culture have been pretty bad ass!  But that's a different field.

there was some outrage over the movie featuring crazy parties with coke and martinis and hot women which obviously never happened.  I would wager Sorkin remained loyal to the major details.

I'm not going to see it.

Until the good reviews reach critical mass and I feel like I need to see it, if only for the water cooler effect.

And it'll be pretty good but I won't really dig it cause it's a biopic and Aaron Sorkin makes all the characters talk in the same, overwritten way.  Which was why I wasn't going to see it to begin with.
