I still need to play Bayonetta on higher difficulties, but on normal, it honestly didn't feel like some huge step above where DMC3 or 4 were at. I thought DMC4 was great for the most part and it was mostly the stupid Nero->Dante->Nero lol fight the same boss like three times lol play dice shit that sucked. Bloody palace showed how much fun the combat was in that game. Plus it was the first time since DMC1 that I was totally digging the style and all that. That is actually part of why I like DMC1 so much. Other reasons are similar to what Himuro posted, but in general, the main story playthrough of DMC1 is more entertaining than DMC3, though, DMC3 did have better combat.

DMC1 Dante
so badass he rises up letting that giant hilt pass through his chest instead of pulling the sword out, then he does the quickening thing from Highlander and uses it like a soccer ball.
about the Capcom thing in general, people are saying that it is the guy behind Lost Planet 2 and RE5, right? the worrying thing is that both those games had single player modes that were damaged by the multiplayer. As someone who prefers single player games, it would suck if this guy tries to make a lot of their games forced co-op.
