has eidos/se said anything about a guardian of light sequel?

back when info about this game came out, they were talking about splitting the series into two; a separate Lara Croft and Tomb Raider series.  i don't know what happened to that.

I wish. Guardian of Light was really good.

I think the game looks good throughout this whole thread. SE's Eidos efforts are great.

Honestly, the PS1 games are unplayable by modern standards. The controls are just plain bad.

I'd still kill for remakes of 2 and 3 though.

I would kill this phrase if I could.  It usually only serves to knock something good, that isn't even close to "unplayable."  I played it on PC with a fucking keyboard like a month ago and it was fine after 5 minutes.  :lol

TR1 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Anniversary

decent reboot but clearly the m.o. was to add a whole bunch more shooting and make it easy.   TR1 just throws you in a tomb and says go fuck yourself, which is great.

Angel of Darkness was suuuuper bad, lol. The controls ruined that game completely.

The following trilogy (Legend -> Anniversary -> Underworld) was much much better.

That's the point where Crystal Dynamics took over control of the series from Core Designs.

Yeah, I've found Crystal's TRs to be the only playable ones.

Core was all over the GDC the last year Angel of Darkness was in production; they had moody promotional vids which made them look like rock stars showing in the lunch room. It left a bad taste, and then AoD was utter crap. CORE: rest in pieces.

The bulk of the studio is still making games under Rebellion. You can thank them for such classics as Alien vs. Predator(2010), NeverDead and Rouge fuckin' Warrior.

I hope this Tomb Raider sells like hotcakes. It'd be great if S-E's little American investment pays off for them, and Crystal keeps getting to make more games.
