Your first few hours browsing the PSN store will probably end with an equal amount of hours downloading, installing, and patching stuff. At least that's how it was with me. YMMV. Good luck on your hunt for a HDTV. Hope you find a good deal.


I'd recommend Wipeout HD, Flower, and Flow. One gets your blood pumping, the other two are for relaxation. All available on the store, you just need either a credit card or a PSN prepaid card.

Also check out the Pixeljunk games. Their Demos are free on PSN. I like Pixeljunk Monsters.

Just get a PSN login for every damn region (remember, the UK sits in its own "soft" region by now, so if you use play/thehut/zavvi/..., you need to get an UK account for the DLC codes that come with those games).

Infamous is also great. Siren is awesome too if you like horror games. And don't forget about the Sly Collection and Motorstorm Pacific Rift . LittleBigPlanet and Modnation Racers should be fun titles for you and your wife. Buzz and Singstar are also great family games.

MGS4, Heavy Rain, GT5, Heavenly Sword, Nier and Valkyra Chronicles are good if you're a fan of such games.

Is VANQUISH that good? If I was to buy one, that or BAYONETTA?

Vanquish is the best TPS ever created. The only real flaw with the game is how weapon crates give you a random weapon. Messes up the scoring system a little, but other than that the game's pretty much flawless. Bayonetta is the best stylish action game since DMC3, but only get it on PS3 if you will never have a 360.

Depends what you're after really: Do you want a godly TPS or do you want a godly action game? Can't go wrong either way.

Folklore and inFamous have already been mentioned. I'll add Hot Shots Golf and Super Stardust HD as recommendations. White Knight Chronicles was pretty disappointing to be honest though I did enjoy building up my little georama town. Looking forward to your impressions of FFXIII; how should I put this...I don't regret buying it but I can't really recommend it either
