Are they really? All I remember was a revised terms of use, and a clause pertaining to game sharing, was there from the very beginning but no one noticed, and was severely misinterpreted. Unless there was a development I wasn't aware of.

you make your password open so someone you trust can come in, go to psn, and dl what you've dled, and then log out, and it'll be on their system. Change the password back and you've let your friend have a game for free.

I played about... 12 hours so far.

From the start: Avoid

Why:

- This is first and foremost a Japanese game. Grind moar for zero reward.
- This is first and foremost an "online" game. The single player is just a tutorial BS.
- You have to grind just to get good equipment. Even upgrading equipment requires grinding.
- Feels like FFXII... without the FF
- Same problems XII suffers. No unique individual characters. All characters come virgin and can mold your own way.
- But like XII it doesnt mean shit what to do when everything is the same anyway.
- Looks like a Dreamcast game
- The online is actually really fucking cool. It gave me huge .hack flashbacks. It even has its own message board you can chat on, and different worlds.
- The online is dead and only filled with high tier players. I didnt bother cause I dont care to play online.
- The quests all require high tier levels
- There is no room for solo play for online, group up or get out
- Theres NG+ but there's no extra bosses to fight, etc.
- SP is distinguished mentally-challenged fellow easy and requires no effort
- As unique equipment is hard to come by, all your characters look exactly the same from the equipment you buy (since the only unique equipment is from their default clothing)

eh i don't know... everybody on the internet says that "DEMON SOULS IS THE HARDEST GAME EVER!" and i wouldn't be surprised if this translate into "demon soul is a game with tons of cheap death's" which is more or less what happens everytime the internet make such a declaration

and valkyrie profile is a SRPG made by sega,i don't think i could feel more repulsive about any other japanese game....

when i was thinking about weeaboo exclusive i was thinking something along more of the line of 3D-Dot Heroes but even when thinking of stuff like that,i can't see ps3 getting that much advantage....

demon's souls isn't that hard. people are just pussies. demon's souls is a rogue like with an action rpg battle system. You would dig it.

what weeaboo stuff does 360 have? you've got dead rising 1, lost odyssey, last remnant, tales of vesperia and blue dragon. ps3 has more outlandish, quirky jappa games: 3d dot heroes, demon's souls, valkyria chronicles, the pixeljunk games, stuff like flower,

Given your tastes I don't see why you think 360 is so much better than ps3 in this regard. ps3 and 360 are both notably absent in the traditional rpg category, but ps3 has the more unique jrpgs available, though stuff like nier are multiplat. Also, it has better japanese support in general. meanwhile all the other 360 japanese games are either 2d shooters (are you big on these?) or multiplat to begin with.

Consoles are lacking in the types of games you and me both like this gen, period. But if your tastes lean towards the Japanese side of things, I don't see how 360 only is going to scratch your itch. In order for ANY japanese gaming fan this gen you have to have ALL the systems: psp, ds, 360, ps3 AND wii. it's not like you can pick any system and automatically be handed the best there is to offer; everything is split. If you're going to go with one console, I'm not seeing how exactly 360, on any level, is the right system for you.

If you play online, there are no cheap deaths in Demon's Souls. What I mean by that is, sometimes they will leave an enemy hiding behind a door or wall, and when you run past him he'll jump out and smack you. But if you're playing online, there will always be a message on the floor that says "beware the trap ahead" with like 5000 recommendations. But as far as regular combat goes, every enemy has attack patterns and they give you plenty of time to react and dodge/counter appropriately. What makes it challenging is that you die in just a few hits, you have to restart the level if you do die, and if you rush you're going to get overwhelmed or caught in traps etc.

I have a feeling that sony will be forced to drop $100 on PS3 next year in US,that also means that EU will get one too.

i am a disenfranchised gaming fan who feels he has only played one true masterpiece this gen.

in the past, one system was enough. these days i have to own all the systems to scratch my itch, something I am getting more and more unwilling to do as i grow older.

i think both consoles are good for their uses.

Also stop naming mediocre rpgs just because 360 has them (example: IU).

360 has that quantity, but does not have the quality. Suggesting IU and magna carta 2 rests my case. You are scratching the bottom of the barrel and single-handedly proves my point.

magna carta 2 isn't that bad. it's at the bottom of the list of HD rpgs worth playing, but it's still a decent game. much better than crap like eternal sonata, infinite undiscovery, and star ocean 4.

okay guys i'll be frank... the point of "360 vs ps3" is that ultimately i want to spend as little as possible because both console have some exclusive i'm curious for (for example ps3 has atelier pantsu but 360 has lost odyssey) and from what i gathered both console are somewhat easy to hack,so price is what matters the most... the point is with all those SKU and models,i'm getting quite confused so ultimately what's the cheapest way to make the HD jump?

Also hacked with the latest firmware,so you don't have to do it yourself...some 360s are "non-hackable",you have to buy another "hackable" drive for them,they are rare though
