To be fair, I can see why someone might have confused expectations for Tree of Life. The trailer was shown before some wide releases and has big-name stars SEAN PENN + BRAD PITT in a well-shot feature film about ? ? ? ? ? ? ... without any hint of what might be in store. I imagine it's like seeing Caligula because you thought Peter O'Toole was cool in that movie about the desert.
