I'll pay you for nudes, ben. Anything to help.
You don't need to pay: I already half-promised them to TheSeks, so he'll just share them here anyway I'm sure. Fucking pirate.
I've tried applying at the exact same job now and I'm competing with certified people as well as two and four year degrees for the same position. Thanks to the recession I'm underqualified even with my years of experience - people can afford to be picky now.
That's exactly how it is here as well. the base level requirements are much higher and if I (circa 3 years ago) applied now I would not get the job. but if i applied right now in my current form i'd probably get the job.
i don't have any certifications tho so if i got fired i may be screwed at other companies.
I did get fired from my job (totally unrelated to how lax it was, more because of something out of my and my manager's power), so I already worry about what potential employers are learning. That said, my manager and team lead and I were pretty cool and they have actually been helping me look for work AND wrote me some letters of recommendation, but it's still been over a year now with nothing. Doesn't help that there are only a few call centers in this area.
I worry about getting certified because a) it's a lot of money for something that still may not help me get a job and b) I'm really considering just forgetting about tech support altogether.
We might just need to move to find somewhere my experience is appreciated. ha
