Kind of, but the shenanigans were more of a subsequent result of the meetup as opposed to wackiness that went on there. It wasn't really all that fascinating a tale, either. Some dude (Jamesfrom818? I know that's close) befriended and presumably had a crush on some girl (I want to say it was something like NintendoGal... it was Nintendo something) and was apparently making her a bit uncomfortable with his texting. Like, they hung out or made plans to hang out as friends, but when she started to blow him off and not respond quickly, his texts were a little aggressive.

I don't really know the people on that list, but to be entirely fair, it is worth considering that some of them may just have that kind of money. That, or they're decently well off enough that they can afford such fine dining but don't really get the opportunity to do so due to lack of a significant other or affluent friends to share the experience with.

Mind you, maybe some just do have a crush on her. But I don't think that's necessarily the only reason why one might sign on for such an outing.

Honestly, if NYC-GAF was doing something where they had a fine dining night out, I'd highly consider going... for the exact same reason you mentioned. I've always wanted to try one of those high-end restaurants but my friends are happy eating at Chili's, and I wouldn't take a first date to any place where it's $200 a plate.

It's getting pretty bad in the main Vita thread (why didn't the mods just move the mega thread to community instead of having them break off into a bunch of mini-threads?) too. There's a few in there who really do think the world's out to simply dog on the platform and dismiss any grievances people may have with it, or Sony's handling of it. The only reason I continue to post in those threads is because while annoying as that shit may be, there unfortunately is a bit of truth to their bitching. It's hard not to find some comment about the thing's abysmal sales even in Vita game specific OTs, and after a while of beating the horse's corpse it starts to get annoying.
