Anecdotal evidence incoming - I think average folks are catching on to it, and I got a pretty good insight into how a lot of them are going to start reacting to it the other week when I went to Gamestop to get Dead Island. I didn't catch the name of the game, but while I was looking around I overheard the guy at the register explaining to a Mom and her young kid that one of the used games she was buying had the $10 code, and that to get online they'd have to buy into it. She whispered something to her kid and put the game aside, and just bought the other game they had in front of them. Again, totally anecdotal evidence, and I am sure a lot of folks from that thread would read that and think "Good! That'll teach them to buy new!" But it didn't. They just didn't buy it at all. That's going to start trickling down to new sales over the long run, as more and more companies start doing it, and Gamestop eventually starts giving less trade credit for copies with the code used.
