Change  it to Gaming News - which is evilore's news aggregate forum -  add a gaming sub forum called Game Discussion for official threads, random questions about games and general game talk, add a third gaming sub-forum for trolling grounds which have more lax rules and good ol' fashion gamer ribbing. Make trolling in the other two gaming forums a ban offense, have three strikes in place in the two non-troll gaming forums. Three strikes results in perma. This will make the gaming forum actually readable again.

Change Off-Topic's name to something more interesting than...Off-Topic, add a sports sub-forum which has lax rules, as well a politics/debate forum for issues such as race/religion/politics/the usual crap. Make a no troll policy on the debate discussion sub-forum, no one word replies, no image replies unless they add something of value to the discussion.

Have unique mods for each and every sub-forum. These mods should be regular posters in these boards. Add more mods to help balance the scales. For a board of its size, gaf doesn't have enough mods.

Blackace, Bishiptol, Ninja Scooter;etc for Sports Age. Opiate;etc. for debate forum.

If they're going to split into sub-forums, they should do it right. If they did this, I'd make myself a new gaf account.

This is why the OT is in decline. Before the "Sane Crew" arrived, threads like these were comedy goldmines with people cracking jokes and trolling near the border of ban territory and people knew that even if mods got them, it would only be for a couple weeks, not perms from out of nowhere.

You have a forum the size of gaf in its current iteration and they have two (count them - two!) forums with inconsistent rules and modding. Have you read the gaming forum lately? How do you fix something like that? Be a hard ass and emphasize good posts.

The thing is that all the shitty parts of GAF you're trying to kill by rearranging the forum are all products of the masses that actually care about being 'seen' on GAF or belonging to GAF or being accepted by the hive. Those people are the traffic. As a news source, GAF is redundant. As a breaking news place, it's redundant. The traffic is all a long, dorky fraternity pledge drive. You kill that and you kill traffic. Tyler won't do that.

I think "Sane Crew" refers to the New Age of Moderating.  The post-Vennt/Dragona/Amir0x/Mike Works era of Opiate/EatChildren/Stump/Charlequin/Duckroll and so on, where the rules are both more consistent/clear, and intolerant of silliness.

It's true for the most part, but at the same time, I think that one can argue that not all fanbases are as prevalently blind in their devotion , save for one or two exceptions. It has something do with them being around longer, making it transgenerational, and knocking down competitors in the past 30+ years, thus creating bitter opposing herds.
