Nope, that's the exact same number of dollars and backers she's had since, like, day 2.
I still have no idea what she was thinking with that. At all.
I mean, let's think about this for a second.
OK. She likes the Titanic. She wants to see it before it's closed off forever. Once in a lifetime thing. I get that. Her interest being sparked by a big budget movie isn't quite as legit, but whatever. Movies are an art form and people are moved by art. I get that.
Now, where to get this money from? Well, pal-slash-NeoGAF-admin Tyler makes hundreds of thousands of dollars off GAF! Maybe Kagari can too!
Here's where the problem comes in, I think. Evilore makes that money, but only when talking in terms of whole years.
Not two weeks.
Aside from that, even assuming that $75k is half of what Tyler makes in a year, that's still a ton of money. Like, a ton. Asking for $10k on Kickstarter if you're not e-famous is a tall order, although maybe Kagari thought she actually was e-famous? Like AVGN levels? That's what baffles me. How could she think that?
The whole thing just reminds me of a parent asking a child how much they'll need when they go to carnival with their friends and the kid saying "two hundred thousand dollars!!!"
Finally, the Kickstarter itself is just poor in general. There's nothing to it. Oh gee, you might write a book about it. What are your credentials? You're not a writer, a journalist. To be honest, I'm more surprised Kickstarter approved the project than Kagari shilling on GAF. But it's win-win for them I guess, or at least win-no-harm-no-foul.
