I think that the Wii U is presenting an interesting conflict for Nintards: their undying love for Nintendo and the fact that deep down, they know that the Wii U E3 presentation and the Wii U itself wasn't that great. This is probably the most tepid reaction to a Nintendo device since I started wandering around the internets (GBA on) and most of them are unsure of what to do. At least for the Wii, they could say that it is too revolutionary and that you guys just don't get it. You don't see that much here. So we're getting these meltdowns and insane reactions because not everything is right in their fantasy Nintendo world.

A lot of people believe the hardware and software were already there but both were horribly presented. So if you agree with that notion and you're willing to take a step back and look at the thread, then yeah, there's a sound core idea hiding behind all that herp and derp. A more successful approach would be to simply ask people for their own conference scenarios, instead of calling out the dead.

It all simply stemmed from the belief that Steve Jobs could sell ice to an Eskimo, which is not entirely inaccurate. However I cannot help but sense some irony considering how the topic of Apple and its products has always been a thorn at Nintendo fans' side. I smelled defeat and desperation in that call for help (or seance).

But really now, how important do some people think these conferences really are? It's not worth this much cray.

Yeah, said it elsewhere , but with the Wii it all made sense - what Nintendo were trying to do was different and you could see where they were coming from. Wii Sports was the proof of concept game that made the machine easy to sell - it didn't even feel like gaming to non-gamers - it was something "different"

The Wii U is bringing nothing new to the table at all - whilst it could well still wind up being some perfectly executed, surprising, oh-look-what-exclusive-i've-got! hit with gamers - i just can't see what appeal it has outside of that crowd. I'm not sure how the Wii U will do especially if Iwata has to price the machine at close to/actual loss territory.

Given the rumblings doing the rounds regarding 3rd party support - this could be "back to Gamecube" levels. As much as i joke - i don't particularly want to see Nintendo struggle especially as they are the last of the console makers still focused entirely on gaming.

Top and bottom of it is - i don't see the point of the Wii U beyond giving Nintendo fans games in -bottom feeder- HD

seems to me that E3 is little more than a massive game of chicken. Why would you even bother risking -anything- ? You roll out your new hot product and all the top games, but then Sony/MS then roll out their new stuff and it's utterly insane. But over there MS trump Sony. So all that happens is that MS have "won" and the other two "lose" - the thing is.... why would you bother taking the chance ? Just have your own announcement on your own terms on your own dateline and then you don't have to worry about going toe-to-toe.

I did in the past when the thread became a pity party for some people and their relationships with women. Sometimes I'm tired of being the bitchy one when I know other parts of girlgaf feel the same though. In that way girlgaf gets on my nerves a bit.

So some friends and I went to this new place we heard about. I heard they had a good dance floor and some good drinks. The place sucked. I had my worst white russian ever tonight, even worse than the one I ordered at crappy bowling alley all those years ago. So we decided to leave. I agree, a night of drinking can set you back at least $50 if you're drinking at a club or a bar. Best to pre-party and by the time you go to a club or bar, you will be sloshed. Then just drink beer to maintain your buzz and you're good to go.
