That may be the case but that makes her a terrible conversation partner on GAF (which is where the majority of my interaction took place). I'd rather talk to Kagari as I said before, because regardless of how silly she is on any given day I at least feel that there was someone on the other side of the conversation thread. Oh no, I know she does that, she did it with me once when I posted in some JRPG thread about how I don't prefer turn-based systems and she's like "Don't you like Pokemon?" and I was like "That's the exception, not the rule."

Although that may have been someone else, I can't remember.

In any case, I find most of her posts enjoyable, and it is entertaining watching her go tit-for-tat with someone over the finer points of the genre. Also, the FF5 four job thing is a really cool series, even though I'd never participate.

There's absolutely no comparing her to Kagari.

The only propblem with Arena is that she is incredibly serious about JRPGs and how much she thinks she knows more about them then you. Which it may be true that she knows more then you, but whenever an argument comes up, she doesn't really reinforce her opinion. She plays "i'm the expert here" card. It's annoying. And there just seems to be no humor in her talk of games, so she's not really a voice I like listening to. Duckroll and Bebpo are far more interesting to read. They also have tons of knowledge and drop their opinions in a very non-condescending way. They also seem to be able to understand that these rpg things are kind of stupid and thats kind of fun. I like that. I mean Arena is still a good poster, but she's not a favorite one to read, you know?

As for Kagari, I've already displayed my dislike much to the annoyance of this forum. And while I'm pretty bitter that I think she banned me for what I think are dumb reasons, I'll smack myself before I got into cry mode. I never liked Kagari, because as a poster she never had anything interesting to say. Now I won't say "Rax91 was some briallnt poster"! No I was a pretty dumbshit member as well, but I think at least my opinions were put on gaf in a very genuinene matter. You know I never got that from Kagari, her posts seemed "manufactured" and really never said anything cool. They were just there, maybe there for attention. Maybe there to make herself seem big? Stupid I know, but hey she would always try to be the first to make new news threads, but they would just be "here's a link". At leas say duckroll would add a bit more if he was posting news, and you know a news thread he made would have actual info, it wasnt a race to be first. I don't know, I guess I can't describe it. She does never had much worthwhile things to read. Besides her bias were completely unsubtle. How a clear as day Sony fangirl became a mod gets me.

Eatchildren admitted that he was a Nintendo fanboy in a Nintendo thread, it doesn't get any more wearing on sleeve than that. Also, Y2Kev is a much more visible Sony fanboy than Kagari, Kagari mainly tends to stick to Japanese oriented Sony stuff whilst Y2Kev pretty much absorbs anything that Sony has made and sticks to Sony threads, he even bought the Resistance Vita game! You can't get much more Sony fanboy than that.

The difference is, both have redeeming qualities as posters and mods that offset their partialness (something they're open about), whether it's humor, sincerity, knowledge or intelligence. On the other hand, I don't think she enjoys any of those traits more than the average poster, and she's rather disingenuous especially about her "choices."

I think RPG threads are usually filled with tons of haters who literally have no idea wtf they are talking about and just post to take potshots at the genre... and Aeana is pretty tired of dealing with them and refuting the same points over and over. So that's why she acts that way...

She knows her shit, she's familiar with lots of obscure games I don't know too many people else are into, so I do like talking to her.

Last gen I owned all three consoles, but this gen, real life shit took charge forcing me to buy only one system. Sony still had Final Fantasy exclusivity when I bought my PS3 in February 2007, plus region free GUNDAMU was a nice perk. No animosity toward Microsoft. I loved my OG XBox and would surely love the 360 if I owned one.
