Let's just call it a douche. The douche has been slowly hinting that it's a girl for months now, but in the last few weeks the douche has been more than outright obvious about mentioning it. And the douche got guys in the funny pics thread to basically spam a Best Friends Forever pic. Between this and basically posting cute anime shit in the funny pics thread, many are just plain tired of aguirre's cutesy I'm a girl act. It's also spreading to other threads. I called the douche out in the small things that annoy you thread. Basically this douche is going out of their way to turn any subject into a post in which they go over the top to remind everyone of their supposed female parts.

It's not really a long "ether" and I only consider it an "ether" simply because someone finally snapped and made a "do you have to comment about your being female in every thread" type of aggressive comment and it came from Aeana of all people was amazing. It's not too amazing and I really didn't save a link.

If Version 2.0 is good, maybe the word of mouth will help spread but that doesn't change the fact that the pay to play mmo model is dead outside of WoW. They're pretty much screwed unless they can make themselves a huge hit. Versus has the potential usher in a new found interest in the Final Fantasy brand, and that is nowhere to be seen. Final Fantasy XIII series is all over the place - XIII was received alright by critics, but fan response is mostly sour or negative, but sales were good especially for the first mult-plat FF; meanwhile, 13-2 pretty much bombed and was released to little fanfare.

I think Lightning Returns and Versus both have the potential to set the series right again, but they have to be executed with polish, finesse, and passion.

This is a pretty good thread.

I still think the majority of males 14-22 are consumed with getting as much sex as possible. Serial monogamy (or relationship seeking) is just a safer alternative to meet those ends. Most just don't have the physical or mental makeup to be a casanova and learn that pretty quickly early on. So, they learn to posture (in front of women) as a reliable, dependable guy. But I still think the desire and fascination of that lifestyle is there.

All of those things create good game play, dolt. Also FF13-2 (seemingly) had good game play and bombed so there goes your "all it needs is good game play" idea. Hell, FFXIII is nothing but battles, which for an rpg is pure gameplay and we saw how that turned out. Good game play is not the only thing that turns into sales. And even if the game play is good it doesn't necessarily mean it is what the series needs either.

Now Lightning Returns...THAT sounds ballsy and something that could captivate gamers. If it turns out polished and not gutted like the last few S-E console game releases.

seemingly?  so you haven't actually played XIII-2.  It's so easy that it barely has a right to exist as game...it's a bunch of empty busy work with crystals and shit.

Lightning Returns is ballsy in that they're making a 3rd XIII game that will sell even less than the 2nd XIII game, which nobody wanted in the first place.  They've shown no gameplay, but I guess gameplay doesn't matter and S-E's word is gold.  As long as the game has passion, finesse, and polish, and lots of crystals.  and Rightningu-chan.

Anyways S-E's biggest problem with FF is releasing half baked half passed products. Hence the necessity for polish and finesse. The level of quality for the series is at an all time low. He's been teasing about joining Naughty Dog, Bethesda, Acti-Blizz, Capcom, etc. Most gaming blogs have been reporting his tweets as news stories, and this looks like a hint of some sorts, either for a new game or company. The thread seems harmless, imo.

I know what it's about, but by sticking @therealcliffyb into the thread title it's guaranteed to get more attention when the GAF "new thread" twitter account sends it out, which in turn brings attention to him as the thread starter.  Maybe I'm cynical but that looks like a really lame attempt to garner himself attention/followers.  Which is basically what the "BOMBA" stuff did as well, at least before it was beaten to death by everyone else.
