I enjoyed what I played of dead nation because it was nice to play a dual joystick shooter that wasn't an over the top crazy fast arena shooter. Still, its no where near the top of PS3 ports I would want. Never did play Outland

Dead Nation on Vita tomorrow - Cross Buy as well.

Dead Nation was one of the freebies from the Sony Hack.... thanks Sony. Lol.

Completely forgot that was coming. Maybe I'll actually finish it for once.

(No, no I won't. Since it's pretty mediocre and House Marquee would be better off focusing on Super Stardust)

I never paid attention to Oreshika/"Over my dead body" because, thanks to the wacky title, I thought it's from the same family that gave us Holy Badman.

Sis, please tell me you are not saying you think Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! is bad. :gurl

(I can understand it not being your bag)

I enjoy Badman, but man it gets hard.

Speaking of which, a new spinoff of that series comes out in North America today. It's F2P.

It's basically Pokemon with no exploration, and an even more simplified battle system developed within the confines of a free to play game. So basically, it's like 50% of the Japanese games on mobile.

I like the art, so I have been playing it a lot, but it's really nothing special.

Here's that Badman spinoff:

You can pirate a 3DS (as long as it's on 4.5 firmware, but they recently found another exploit on 6.3 firmware so that could change pretty soon) but honestly i can't convince myself to buy one... I told myself bravely default would be the game that would made me buy one but after reading the lukewarm impressions i went back to not caring

I'm a believer of the conspiracy theory stating that Kojima bars any of the non-Kojima directed MG games from being re-released. It would explain why things like Ghost Babel, The Twin Snakes, and Ac!d are MIA. While Portable Ops is on PSN, IIRC it doesn't even work on Vita through PS3 transfer.

It's believable, but only if you think Kojima has the clout to stop Konami from making money any way they like with their property.

Well, isn't he nearly at the highest up level of Konami? I'd believe it.

I'm not entirely serious about the conspiracy against non-Kojima MG games, but I really can't understand why those other games are missing. Usually it's licensing stuff, but the games are so scattered that I'm not sure if that's it. While the spinoffs aren't going to bring in huge money, it wouldn't cost Konami a tonne to throw them on digital stores. Heck, they released VR Missions on PSN, and that's a "Who asked for this?" release.

Thinking about it, Konami did miss some easy greed opportunities with MGS. They could've split up the HD Collection in to two containing The Twin Snakes + MGS2, and another with MGS3 + PW (+PO?).  MGS4 also never saw a proper expansion/re-release.

OH SHIT. They're together. No wonder the WUT. When did that happen?

On an aside: I tried the Badman F2P and it isn't bad. It's kinda like Montizuma but with Badman's dungeon spelunking design applying to things in the match 3 format. My only issue is the time-limit (too short) and the F2P elements (GIVE US MONEY) really hindering what could be a good game if it was full-priced.

I've read/watched mixed reviews.  Overall people seem to like the 2000's design better (more ergonomical) and like the increased battery life, but everything comes back to the OLED screen, which is clearly the best part of the 1000 and still the way to go.

So you're supposed to be able to see you're activity through PSN when you're online right? Like if I check my friend list and a duder is playing Gravity Rush, he should  appear as Online and Playing Gravity Rush right?

I ask this because I never appear online while playing anything Vita.

I only came across this because well.....I was trying to do some easy trophies with DoA5+. Yet it would never find a match even though over on my PS3(with another account obviously) I would be spinning my online wheels and connecting with other random players. I would try to send messages and invites, but they would never appear on my Vita. Meanwhile my PSN account on my Vita appeared online.

When I would come back a few hours, the invites and messages would appear on my Vita.

It's just kind of strange. I have no other online games to check this with. DoA5 isn't the best test, but I couldn't even match up myself on the vita vs PS3. The store and downloads all work and I believe I activated the Vita.

By the way, I did get the system used. So I can return it and get another one.

there might be a setting.  I know whenever I download anything from the store it asks if I want to share my activities and I hit "what no"

also, a bunch of ps1 and psp stuff is suddenly compatible with the vita.  crash and spyro games, PSP demos.

DOA5+ is Ranked matches only. And matchmaking for cross-play is busted. You have to wait 10+ minutes before it'll connect to someone.

And with DOA5U out... good fucking luck getting those.

Huh, that's disappointing. I was considering getting another Vita when the BL2 bundle comes out, for PS4 streaming and because I had such a huge library of PS1/PSP digital games (and PS+ games I'd been "buying" through the webstore even without a Vita).  Now a large chunk of that stuff won't work...again.
