Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax is out in Japan, too. Double-dipped and got it on PS3 and Vita. The latter is not Vita TV compatible and does not have cross-play. Thanks, Sega.

This is a fighting game with characters from various light novels/manga/anime series, including Sword Art Online, Shakugan No Shana, that Railgun series, Durarara!!!, and Ore No Imouto. Akira from VF and Selvaria from VC are also playable in the home version.
All of the stages in Dengeki Bunko are Sega-themed. You've got Sonic, Nights, Virtua Fighter, Shinobi, Phantasy Star Online 2, and Valkryia Chronicles themed stages. I dunno about you, but I'd rather have characters from those games playable instead of random anime characters.

But the game is pretty fun. It's pretty simplistic for a 2D fighter; most of the characters just have a few moves, and all are done with fireball motions. There's an auto combo into-super that can be done with the light attack, just like in Persona 4 Arena. In fact this game reminds me of an easier to play P4A, which is funny as P4A reminds me of an easier to play BlazBlue! The roster is on the small side, but the characters feel varied enough and there's plenty of assist characters to use. I still need to unlock Akira and Selvaria, too.
The visuals on Vita are a mixed bag- backgrounds look great but the sprites look a little...squished on the screen. They're not bad though, but a little bit of detail is missing. Reminds me of how BlazBlue looked on PSP/3DS. I think the resolution on the sprites was not scaled down for Vita. Also happy that the load times are almost non-existent, which is welcome after BlazBlue CP and Arcana Heart 3 LM shipped with pretty bad load times on Vita. I still have to try the PS3 version too!
There's virtually no chance of this game get localized so it will probably stay on my recommended import game PS3/Vita list for the foreseeable future.
