yeah, you can post a couple outliers that disprove me, but on the whole, JRPGs are the easiest genre.  They're just a long grind, campy, and have the worst stories and characters ever, that's why everybody hates them.

Yeah, I have played with 3DS friends a WHOPPING THREE TIMES-- one time was local, one was randomly with Enk right when the system came out, and the other has been with a friend of mine, who is able to send a text message so we can set it up.  If you don't have a way to message someone elsewhere, you will never play with them online.      The Wii was the same way.

Well I think that's part of what makes it an easy genre. If you hit a wall, you can just go grind and pass it without any real effort. But all that does is change people's perception. Rather than realizing they suck, they think the games are poorly designed and force you to grind for 500 hours.

Only one 3DS exclusive in top 40 despite price drop

Despite Friday's official price cut for the 3DS handheld, only one exclusive title sits in the top 40 best-selling games chart.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D saw a 60 per cent rise in sales compared to last week, taking the game from number 39 to 13 in the charts.

Retailers began cutting the price of the 3DS last week ahead of the official reduction, with some selling the console for as little as £115 - less than half its price at launch in March.

Elsewhere in the charts there was only a shuffle of the top titles, with 505 Games' Zumba Fitness still at number one for 12 weeks in total.

DSi XL's are more expensive than 3DS most places I've looked and regular DSi's aren't selling for much less I'm probably going to bite soon, anybody have experience with the third party battery packs. Nykos PowerPak+ seems to have decent reviews and looks it would make it more comfortable along with the 6 hours battery life

Because the days of dedicated handheld game systems are rapidly drawing to a close.  Most people don't want to carry around two or three devices at a time, they don't want to pay console prices for handheld games, etc.  The percentage of people willing to buy a dedicated gaming handheld and pay for full price games isn't enough to sustain the market anymore.  It's not doom and gloom, it's just a simple fact, and a few thousand gamers bububububuing about it on message boards isn't going to change that.

The thing is, the 3DS has quite a few good ideas, like being able to pull up the home screen in the middle of any game / use the browser / view your friends list etc. The StreetPass or whatever it is that automatically downloads shit to your system is great. But it's just covered in a layer of typical Nintendo incompetence that makes me SMH.

The 3DS is fucked in the long term.  Parents simply are not going to be willing to spend several hundred dollars for a gaming device when they already bought their kid a smartphone that is already capable of playing games.  Sure, there will be some kids that will be jonesing for the new Pokemon and there will be a hardware bump around the time it comes out but in the long term?  Nintendo Dogs firebombed, considering how just five years ago, they were selling hundreds of thousands of units a month for extended periods of time.  The blue ocean just isn't interested in the 3DS, whether it is $249, $169, or whatever price Nintendo will drop it to.  Nintendo's bread and butter blue ocean strategy is no longer workable.  Nintendo is going to have to try something else.
