Crapcom's tidal wave of Street Fighter releases was more likely the culprit for SFxT's mediocre sales. Tekken Tag still carries a lot of value in its name—the first game is typically cited as most folk's favorite Tekken. I don't expect it'll have a problem sales-wise. Plus, only one of these games has Snoop Dogg.

Even if you don't like a character in Tekken, you may like him/her in SFxTK-- the games don't play the same.

The only real problem with the gems right now is the AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL autoblock gem. It's fucked up and needs to be addressed, STAT- people are hoping this will happen with the balance patch coming next week.

But there's no doubt that SFxTK is a mess right now. Capcom botched a number of things with it and they're paying for it. Personally I've noticed that most people on my friends lists have already gone back to SSF4- and there is renewed interest in Tekken 6 because of Tag 2 coming out.

Well, the gems and "no skill" bit is mostly the SRKtards. I mean they throw the same shit at Smash Brothers due to the items being intended (but unlike SFvsT can be turned off there) in gameplay, which makes a logical point if you're wanting an "even balance" skill thing.

But I'm talking out my ass since I haven't given SF vs T the time of day after hearing of the gem system and them wanting to make you pay for more gems/better gems to use.

Wow that story mode..

I mean I guess it wasn't really that different then other DoAs. They kind of just took everyone arcade mode on strung it together. Meaning most of the characters are pretty stupid and pointless, but the Ninja characters have a bit more story. It was pretty enjoyable in how dumb it was. Plus the game looks nice and I like the use of lots of music from DOA4, a game I apparently put more then 100hrs in.
