If you meant taste and texture, I'd say CLIF Builder's bars.

If you meant nutrition, then, uh...  *activates Cormac Bat-signal*

nutritionally: any of the (rare) low-carb ones like powercrunch or any of the atkins bars. clif bars are pure sugar and horrible for anyone who won't immediately be biking twenty miles.

yeah, i just wanted to reinforce the idea that most of these protein bars or "builder" bars are just glorified candy bars

look on the back and make sure there is more protein than carbs, and the carbs are from sugar alcohols rather than sugars

really, though, i'mma pulla cormac here and say just bring some fuckin' meat/cheese/nut product of a sodium-reduced sort

i just keep a bag of raw almonds on hand at all times

spoiler (click to show/hide)
if you need some nut product, just ask :-*

or you can "pull a cormac" yourself :-\

I find even the low carb ones disgusting.

But what are you doing, Chip? Do you need one for a meal replacement?  Extra protein for muscle building? Or for a long run or bike ride?

I have a habit of bringing of bringing almonds/trail mixes/cashews with me to work already, I'm just looking for some variety.  I don't really like almonds all that much!  They have this chalky texture that is just bleargh.  So if there's something low carb that doesn't taste like pestilence I want to try.  I will look for "power crunch".

In terms of exercise I do three hot yoga sessions a week, each an hour and a half long.  It's free and I'm not very ambitious in terms of sculpting my body, and I'm not really (that much) overweight so it does the trick for now.

I think most of the low carb ones use sugar alcohols which fuck yo guts, and aren't entirely low carb in the strict sense (speaking as a diabetic carb counter)

i'd go with some whey powder if possible

A lot of people say that Whey Protein is paleo approved.  I use it quite a bit for post-workout and even meal replacement from time to time.  You have to get past mixing water with (insert flavor) powder, but after that it's really not that bad.

Yet even in a small community you can have a variety of different diet opinions.  EB is unified.
