is fucking hard!
When the beats of your steps are different from the beats of the song, it's like SONG WHY YOU THROW OFF MY RHYTHM, JERK

It feels like hardcore multi-tasking, remembering the beats, the steps, what move your actually doing, and then also kind of hey
looking at the person in front of you.
But it's pretty fun!
I was out planning on minature golfing and I sent an invite to golf with a friend and they were like NO, COME HERE AND DO WEST SWING DANCE CLUB and I was like ...ok, I'm down.
So I get there 20 mins late and the first thing she says to me is "hahaha, you are going to look like such a pedophile in there" and I'm like "Fffffuuu what have you gotten me into, girl?!?!" and walk in and it's all these kids who have to be at least 18 since it's on a college campus but fuck if they don't all look like kids full of acne and tiny and here I am walking in and still wearing my work clothes with a black dress shirt and nice shoes on and a HEY I'M 30 GRISLY FACE (my friend is 24/25 but she looks 21 so she fits in). Yikes.
I didn't even feel embarrassed that everyone else sort of knew how to dance and it was my first time doing a dance lesson EVER so I was crap. I'm too old to care and just enjoy the fun of the dancing while probably looking like an idiot. I did feel a LITTLE awkward about being the old man in the room. We had to keep switching partners so I'd meet and dance with all the girls and it was weird for sure. But I got better at the actual dancing as time went on and had a lot of fun. I'm thinking about joining the club and going regularly with my friend and this group of kids and not giving a fuck about the I'm an old man bit.
Also I probably could have picked a more beginner friendly type of dance as my first dance than Swing Dancing. There is a LOT OF MOTION and SPINNING AND STEPPING right off the bat in swing and it's REALLY FAST

I may have found a new hobby
