Entourage is the best show currently on TV

I thought I'd hate it.  I thought I was popping in some Hollywood flake's vanity navel gazing vanity project, but the show absolutely blew me away.  I watched all 3 seasons in the space of a week, and I am anxiously awaiting new episodes.

The writing is great, all of the main characters are memorable and quirky in generally realistic ways.  It puts characters into a world that we've largely never seen before in television.  It deals with situations that you've often wondered about, but didn't quite know whom to ask.  And it's utterly addictive and completely hilarious.

I adore this show, and after 3 seasons, I feel like these people are my friends, and I know how they'll deal with situations.  The writing is top notch.  The production values are off the hook, and I can't believe I'm this late to the game.  I was so convinced I would hate the show, and now I can't remember being this bowled over by a show since Sopranos season 1.  It's THAT good.

I've watched a few episodes, it's one of Megafoo's favorite shows. But I never really got into it.

You know, you might be right, especially with E, normally the brains of the operation, going all threesomey in season 3.  I can live with that, though.  Ari kinda makes the show.

One thing I didn't like was the turn all the characters (except Ari) made in the current last episode.  I can't believe they'd all turn their backs so quickly on someone that had done so much for them, and it's not like the gang had never made obvious, dumbass mistakes in the past.  I just thought it was quite the turn to see once level-headed characters do just about a complete 180.

Season 3 was the first season I watched, but if I watched them in order, I would've been a lot more bothered by the gang abandoning Ari.  (If I recall correctly, Drama was opposed to the idea.)

It was uncharacteristic of E and Vincent, and its lame that the creators likely did this to have a big event happen in the finale, but at least it will at least make for some interesting scenarios in season 4.

If you like Entourage, you really, really should check out The Minor Accomplishments of Jackie Woodman on IFC. It's like Entourage, if it was about two drug inhaling, script writing girls in L.A.. And Laura Kightlinger writes & stars in it, so you KNOW it's good shit.



oh and if you ever wanted to see the blond kid from The Nanny with one of the filthiest fucking mouths you've ever heard on TV, you MUST check this show out.

Yeah, it was kind of shocking because it almost felt like I knew the characters, and I knew E wouldn't act like that.  Vince is kinda flaky, so I could see him wanting to get rid of Ari, but there was no real buildup to it.  Yeah,  he didn't get the movie Vince wanted, but it's not like this is the first time something bad has happened, and Vince fucks up something in just about every episode.  I was also shocked that Drama didn't try to sway Vince to stick with Ari earlier.  Ari got Drama his first job in forever, and he made Vince, and just about everyone is cool with ditching him after one not-very-noteworthy fuckup that really wasn't even all his fault?  Lame.  But it's the one major misstep in a show that had phenomenal up until that point, and I can't deny that the situation in season 3.5 will lead to some awesome eps.

And it's a merit to the show that even though I found the characters' turn uncharacteristic, I still loved that last episode.

It's a series on the Independant Film Channel! They're shooting the second season right now, but they should rerun the 1st season sometime soon.
