I also think that we'll see this game in stores between April of and October 2012.

Rockstar, when it comes to marketing GTA games, tend to err on a tight adverting/pr ship. Vice City was revealed in July 2002, came out October 2002. San Andreas was revealed in May of 2004, and released October 2004. GTAIV was announced in 2007, and was supposed to have a 7 month marketing campaign until release but was delayed, but it still it put just a year shy of its initial reveal.

Whenever Rockstar unveils a new GTA game, it's coming soon and they make a huge deal out of it because they have to get their PR machines a turnin'.

I really hope you're right. I'll be finished with Saints Row 3 somewhere around then anyway, but (more than that) I am SUPER anxious to see what, if any, lessons from Red Dead Redemption's open world systems will be applied to GTA V.

The internet says the riddle is describing the header.  The image in the V is of a Five Guys restaraunt, and there are five bullet holes in five letters, which can be rearranged to spell "AGENT".  Could be pointing to Washington, DC as the location (which would be amazing, but I am biased), but I think the scale of it might be a bit too small.  That's about the only thing that could sell me on this for Day 1, though.

Set it during the 70's or the 60's counterculture movement and I'm sold.

I would REALLY like this, but if the "leaks" are to be correct from the casting call, it'll be modern day LA (Los Santos).

I'm hoping they go more realistic and add a lot of rpg elements.  GTASA had light RPG stuff, and Red Dead Redemption did too.  We'll (probably not) see soon enough.

lol maybe not a Hispanic lead.  It's probably that middle age white guy.

people are guessing it's tommy vercetti

and revising old cities is great.  LA in San Andreas really had no detail.  PS2 era was pushed too hard.  Now they can push 360/PS3 era hardware! and on the Xbox Loop, they can do it again!

Graphically the game looks really nice (so you know it's the PC version) but I have serious doubts this game will be fun.

Good color. Much better than the bleak and dingy ass city of GTAIV.

Edit: I still think revisiting past cities is kinda lame.

Every GTA, aside from 2 and London, is just a new take on GTA1, which featured San Andreas, Liberty City and Vice City.

Thats not even the same, but yes, the same old shit is why I quit playing Zelda.

Coupled with Nintendo's lack of innovation in gameplay.

I can't say maybe Rockstar nailed the gameplay this time though and changed things up, but judging by the trailer its same old same old.

I mean nothing wrong with that if you aren't bored with it etc.

How isn't it the same? Same location, different interpretation. IV's Liberty City is nothing like III's Liberty City, or 1's Liberty City. Even GTA Chinatown Wars' Liberty City is its own thing.

in saint's row you can beat someone to death with a glitter dildo while wearing a giant cartoon cat mask, then set the body on fire, then put out the fire with liquid shit

in gtav you can watch a full length high school level parody of a popular tv show on the in-game tv at your apartment after you get home from your bowling date

GTA has always had social commentary though, it's just that they went ape shit with realism in IV. Thankfully, the GTAIV dlc fared much better. I mean, you like Red Dead Redemption right? Who's to say GTAV isn't GTAIV with RDR improvements? That'd be awesome.

Told ya it wasn't going to be set in the past nor in some other place like Japan or shit.

As usual not much to garner in these early trailers outside of mood and tone. Hopefully it turns out well. I'll avoid the Saints Row versus GTA debates which are fairly dumb forum shit imo.

you could be right, but i liked the "throw dynamite into a hideout and listen to rustlers scream" parts way more than the "ah'm jus' a reformed criminul tryin' ta be a decent fambly man why's everbody pickin' on me?" parts, and i doubt gtav will weigh towards the former

I feel the exact same way. It's just that RDR was an improvement on every thing GTAIV laid upon, so I'm hopeful for GTAV.

I hope it's not another "oh woeeeeeeeeeeee, I want to forget my tragic past" story. I hope to god the multiple character rumor is true.

Looks ok, but after IV being shitty gameplay stuck in the 90s + awful dialogue I don't have much faith in another by-the-books GTA.

Might have to defect to Saints Row this round.  Saints Row for Present/Future/Wacky gangsta, Mafia II for Period piece Gangsta.  No room for GTA anymore.
