I think I spent too much time crafting, enchanting, sneaking and lockpicking because now I'm level 20 and feel like a crippled lamb whenever I enter combat against anything bigger than a Skeever

i've noticed more regular memory leaks (solved momentarily via alt tabbing in and out of the game)and slightly longer load times. At the start of the game shit was literally instant...couldn't read the text before you were in the game. Now it takes 5 or 10 seconds longer.

It's no wonder the ps3 version is collapsing under its own weight when a pc with 8 gigs of ddr3 and 1.5 gigs of vram is starting to perform noticably more sluggish.

I had a weird encounter with a dragon. I got him down to half health and he started to take off and then started to do somersaults in the air and flew away drifted away. I could still see it in the distance going end over end. The framerate started to chug. I thought it was going to CTD, but as I got further away, it became fine again.

There is still only one place I can't beat yet. You have to re-forge and amulet. There are 3 ghosts and you fight them one at a time. I can beat the first, but the 2nd one has a force shout. I'll go back much later on.

Weird. Well, something happened in my game between 14 and 15 or so to make him vanish.

MURDER

I've had a few reasonably important NPCs killed by Dragons since I've started playing, in Riverwood there's a small mass grave where I fought an Ancient Dragon and some villagers decided to be brave

I've only just started the game and I met her last night.  I perved on her back and side boob.

Then those three thugs killed me.  I think she was facing the other way luckily. :pimp

That's pretty cool.  This game is cool.  I reloaded a few times to try and kill those thugs but they were too powerful (I'm like level 2).  I could have run backwards around Skyrim for half an hour whittling them down with my puny magic but in the end I let them kill me.

At first I thought there'd be no moral consequence for stealing (since there's no obvious good/bad gauge like Fallout), but thugs coming for you is bitchin'.  I much prefer this to everyone just saying "You're a dirty scoundrel!  Hey, help me find my brother.".

Is there a good anti-magic strategy for melee players?  I'll one-shot every enemy in a dungeon, get to the boss and get lit up because he's running around dual casting lightning storm.  I can deal with it if it's just one guy by pounding healing and resist potions, but of course, they're always surrounded by a bunch of other casters.

Start leveling Restoration for ward spells, I guess?

I think I'm somewhere around 40hours now and I finally decided to go up the mountain to get my dragonspeak on.

There's almost too much content, I'm spending more time doing the numbers/burglary jobs for the Thieves guild than anything else.

I discovered something that bugs me with the first quest in the Dark Brotherhood quest line. (which I have to say is super cool already and my fav opening of any quest so far)

spoiler (click to show/hide)
So this chick asks you to kill one of the three people right? I saved the game to see what I could do.

First I killed her and got a quest to destroy the dark brotherhood.

Then I tried killing one or more people and got a quest to join the dark brotherhood.

Finally I though about killing one person, getting te quest to join the dark brotherhood AND THEN killing her. But this is impossible since she will become invinceble then and auto heal. LAME.

Great quest though, but I can't decide what to do. Join or...

Start leveling Restoration for ward spells, I guess?

Depends on your approach.

Keep raising Health, get / enchant Magic Resist gear, drink magic resist potions, use resist spells.  Alteration has a magic resist perk, Restoration has a "Life 3" Perk if you near-max it, etc.  Block has some good Perks too, reducing elemental damage and letting you move full speed with a shield raised (plus shield is one of the things you can put Magic Resist on, and there are two different artifact shields with unique magic blocking).

I considered a shield with the perk, but since I went two-handed, I'd rather not carry around the extra equipment.  With high Alchemy and Enchanting, I've managed to put together some solid resist combinations, provided I know what spells a particular enemy is using.  Still occasionally get blown up, but at least I can deal with it the next time around.

The only thing that still really gets me is frost damage to mobility.  Is there anything that negates that right away?

I do hope for the next Elder Scrolls they will put in more variety for the missions and some actual puzzles and dungeon design (they do look pretty unique, but maybe some more exploration and labyrinths and less corridor runs, plus some elaborate puzzles with some physics as well maybe and not just turning rings.)

I mean the game is cool and all, and the quest storylines are cool, but it does feel all a bit samey 30 hours in. Same as in Fallout.

Sill great game, but could be so much better.

The only thing that still really gets me is frost damage to mobility.  Is there anything that negates that right away?

I don't think I've found any enchantment that negates slowing from Frost damage, I may have, I haven't played in a while and I'm too lazy to use magic specific resists.
I'm wearing an amulet and ring with Magic Resist at ~50% which makes dealing with magicians and dragons pretty easy, I could have a shield but I either two hand fire axes or use a frost bow so that's out, figured I'd just double down on enchantments on each piece once I get Enchanting to 100, though even if the magic resist your gear has totals to > 80% the game apparently caps it there.

I was thinking of making pairs of lightning/fire/frost resist boots to swap out and buff elemental resist past the max 80% magic resist. Though I don't know if the system combines magic resist and specific elemental resist from the base dmg easily giving you 100% resist, or in order tallying one first then the other off the remainder. Guess I'll test next time I boot up the game.

Eh, there's lots of exploring to be done, this game is all about the exploration??? and there's certainly a fair few standout dungeons, Alftand and Labyrinthian spring to mind. More or less agreed though. Dungeons do re-use the same assets a lot, though that seems unavoidable considering the scale of the game, Blackreach was an odd stroke of genius and it would be cool if there were more set pieces and locales with unique enemies like that bone dragon and the skeletons they spring on you in Labyrinthian. That said, I would definitely appreciate more diverse, unique boss-like enemies instead of just dragons, dragons, dragons. I like dragons and all but I slaughter a couple every time I sit down with the game, I feel liek they blew their load with the Dragon thing about 40 dovah ago... What about these Giants? Where do they come from? Why do they all look the same! Are there mammoth fuckers? I want to kill some more giants, but not the same brothers I see all over the place, maybe get some wearing different clothes. Fat ones, hairy ones maybe even some friendly semi-intelligent ones.... I thought there would be much more about them considering them and the mammoths are pretty cool. I'm not too fussed about puzzles, unless a game is specifically geared towards them they're usually the same ol shit with some gimmick thrown in.

The main quest is really satisfying. It takes you all over the map with lots of variation in locale, and doesn't overstay its welcome. Plus you get some pretty kickass shouts along the way.

I keep forgetting I have shouts. Finally remembered last night and shouted two bears about 100 yards up the road. Looked awesome as they tumbled around, I wish I'd taken a cap of it.
