There are some cool stuff in the movie, great animation too but it's a really really condensed version from a new perspective. Show is great though, one of my favorites Tasty you should def. watch it.

Episode 4 lowlights:

1. Everyone thinks Goblin Slayer-san is going to kill a prisoner but instead he kills a goblin in the room no one else could tell was there. Then he goes "idk what y'all were thinking; I'm here to kill goblins." (In the first episode he killed a wounded adventurer.)
2. When they finally get to the underground goblin lair they wait until the goblins start to wake up, then cast a sleep spell on all of them, then massacre them for a few minutes while they sleep.
3. The boss of the lair isn't a goblin. Slayer has never heard of its species before because he's a massive bumpkin. ("Oh... so you're not a goblin?" -Slayer)
4. Slayer has to pop some potions to finish the fight and he does it with his back turned to keep up the "this guy eats and drinks with his helmet on" sight gag.
5. Weaponized town portal scrolls.

Double Decker! Doug & Kirill is pretty good!  Apparently this is a spin-off from Tiger & Bunny, but I didn't watch that so I'm not sure if there's a big connection between the two or not.  Definitely has the same art style though.

At first glance this show looks like a typical "buddy cop" kind of show, and it sort of is...but the characters' personalities and the humor really shines here.  It has a lot of western-influenced humor and references that make it stand out from everything else.

The ending theme is great, too! :rock

Been showing my gf some Studio Ghibli movies and yesterday we saw Nausicaa... this has always been one of my favorites in the Ghibli library for its interesting setting, but the rewatch reminded me of the synthy elements on the soundtrack...

So I'm looking for 2 types of recs:
-any other anime fairly similar to Nausicaa, with really unique alien worlds and settings?
-any 80's anime with awesome synth soundtracks? (Rumbler, this is your cue...)

Rambling theory time Shinji in 3.0 is a clone Shinji. The original one was rescued 14 years ago but still somehow caused an actual Third Impact later on. Maybe he died in the process, but Eva 01 was still around, and we know clones and evas go together like PB & Rei.

The Kaworu scene at the end of 1.0 was a flash-forward. Not sure when though. Yeah the giant may eventually be the Eva 06 he pilots at the end of 2.0 but maybe not.

I'm becoming less convinced of the sequel theory for Rebuild the more I think about it, but I'm still overall neutral on it.

Char has this rare medical condition where his swag is so past legal and healthy limits that he has to change his whole shit up every couple years. Full Frontal isn't Char, I think he was one of those not a clone clones but played it up because he knew how legendary Char was.

That's from my copy of the official Char's Counterattack Playstation 1 video game guide/artbook.

Gundam has weird names. It's based on Tomino's idea that things (like names) would change and become a strange mishmash of languages and cultures when humanity moved to space.



And pretty much every single Gundam show has a masked villain as an homage to Char.

The voice actor who plays Char even shows up in Gundam SEED Destiny as the main bad guy. And the guy who voices Amuro Ray did the bad guy in season 2 of Gundam OO.

I probably don't like that anime as much as others do but I do love that throwback art look it has. Super Cool. Especially for somebody who grew up on the old stuff. Music is nice too.

Been busy so haven't had time to watch much anime recently. Finished this one though My original take was my finishing take. It's good but not great. Great music though. If they do a second season cool. If they don't it wouldn't bother me also.
