Someone is fan-translating the manga and I've read the few chapters available- it's like Sword Art Online in that they're in a VR MMORPG world, but are doing so willingly. It's billed as some kind of experiment thing where a parent and child go in together, but so far they've only had just the main mom- she's a much stronger fighter than her son and the magic girl on the left.

The MC when he was a kid he was a total crybaby he was told by the Milo( Milo is a woman from the future time traveled to set these events in motion), that he is the chosen one who can protect everybody.

The twist is he technically doesn't matter his friends are the chosen ones, his best friend the wishy-washy can't we all just get along character and the only one of his childhood friends who didn't shun him is the actual most important character, he was just an extra ouch!

Check out Rising Of The Shield Hero. Another fantasy anime (the overplayed isekai type), but despite the presence of WAIFU~, the story gets pretty good once things get going.

First BotI anime was terrible, hopefully this one is solid. Still need to finish the manga. Im like a lot of ppl and gave up during that long torture/prison arc. Shit lasted years and then one day Samura just decided to end it all I guess lol. His other projects are cool though. Not a bad career for a guy who basically makes violent smut (if you haven't and curious look up his earlier works bless up)
