I never liked Attack on Titan cause Eren's a fucking insufferable loser, and the "popular" characters really aren't much better.

Neat animation and music though. Not sure of the appeal of the manga.

AoT been trash from jump for me too and I still don't understand how it blew up so much with normies. It's big. It's kinda like how Jojo got insanely popular something I never predicted for how weird it gets.

It has good action, lots of teary-eyed drama (with beloved characters eating it) and there's a gigantic (

) mystery at the core. The art sucks, though, which is where the anime comes in and completes the package.

JoJo is the much bigger mystery to me.

MANGA DERAIL

The creator of Prison School has a new series called RaW Hero. It's about a young guy with two little brothers and no parents. He keeps trying to get jobs and rejected. One day on the way to an interview, he sees a woman getting groped and yells at the groper. They get off the train and the guy praises him for noticing and intervening, then reveals the woman is a pervert and it's consensual (this is dumb Prison-School-esque humor where the two are frequently doing shit to each other all over the place), then offers him a job as...a superhero? We also see a superheroine pop up here and there.

The guy's job is to then get hired at an evil organization, using notes and items found in a train station storage locker. It's filled with stupid notes about a fake idol singer, along with a wig and clothes. So he figures he has to disguise himself as a girl for the job. It then cuts to the pervert boss and his secretary and he realizes that he gave the new guy the wrong case -that was meant for them to role play in- but somehow the new guy gets the job anyway and goes off to do some EVIL SHIT which ends up being trying to spraypaint "DIE" on a politician's house...but the paint is the wrong color. The superheroine from earlier pops up and beats the shit out of one of the guys, who is about to die, but the new guy gives him CPR and revives him. That guy then goes and stares off a bridge, happy to have been revived with his first kiss.

Thought Oshii gave up on anime, and deservedly? Why is he back after retiring from the medium? Most curious. He has very been open about his disdain for the industry and has stuck with live action to my knowledge.

He's got another anime booked too outside of the Vlad thing. He's supposed to be adapting some japanese novel into a series of films I can't remember the name/dunno if that was cancelled.

I'm really glad that Oshii is getting back into anime, because his live-action movies [even the ones that are better regarded] just don't do much for me at all. Visuals aren't as good, acting isn't as strong, directing isn't as sharp; it's just such a noticeable step down from what he does with animation.
