Naruto's age isn't even 20 years old.

No way it's gonna end lol.

You have to realize that Kishimoto is not a talentless hack like Kubo.  He has some pride and when the story is done he's not going to pull arcs out of his ass to make it keep going for years like Bleach.  The bad guy for this is THE MAIN VILLAIN FINAL ENEMY.  He's the most powerful character in the entire universe and his goal is like the end of FMA and END OF WORLD if he wins.  Naruto is in his FINAL FORM to get ready to beat him.  Sasuke is ABOUT TO APPEAR.  Everything is pretty much point towards a final climax.  I think Kishimoto will pull off a really cool finale that wraps all the remaining subplots together into a nice epic finish.  I think Naruto will end in the next 2 years.

yeah, but this current final boss is actually pretty recent.  Initially Pain was shown as the Akatsuki leader, and then suddenly this goofball became the real final boss.  It's not like it was even hinted at.

The one reason I'd agree with you is because Naruto has already tackled every cliche and wrapped up everything hinted at earlier in the manga.  There's possibly the world outside of the hidden ninja villages, like with the samurai, and that could be a new arc.  It could even be delayed if Naruto isn't suddenly hokage after this.  I'm just saying that I wouldn't be surprised if a new arc was pulled out of Kishimoto's ass.

And I disagree that Kishimoto has a lot of pride in his work after the entire zombie versus scrubs thing.  Naruto was sub-Bleach at that point.

In general that's the problem with establishing a finite goal at the start of a manga.  There's never a satisfying conclusion and a lot of times it feels like the series is being stretched to avoid reaching that point.  Hajime no Ippo is the absolute worst at it, followed by Bakuman.  So much inanity in both of them.

It's another reason why Hunter X Hunter is great.  Gon's end goal wasn't really to meet his father, but to understand what it meant to be a hunter and realize why his father chose it over him.  It's open ground for adventuring.

I think he has pride in his work, but that doesn't mean he's that great of a writer  :lol  I mean the current final boss's MOON EYE PLAN is really stupid and bad writing.  Everything involving Sasuke is bad writing (remember DANZO).  Naruto has lots and lots of stupid stuff because Kishimoto isn't that great of a writer.

But where I think Kishimoto isn't a hack and has some pride is that none of this stupid stuff ends up lasting and becoming the focus of the series.  It all has it's 3-4 months of dumb and then the manga gets back to Naruto and things moving and it's good again.  They're like temporary dumb spots where Kishimoto can't think of anything so he gets some drug addict off the street to make up the connecting bit of story.

The difference with Bleach is it never has that good core to go back to.  The dumb stuff IS the main story each arc and there's nothing behind that when the arc is over to carry the series.  The series is literally empty and nothing but a series of dumb arc after dumb arc where kubo keeps making shit up because he doesn't want to just cancel the series since there's no point to it anymore.

well, Bleach gets better the dumber it gets.  It's almost a parody of every bad Jump trope.  Inexplicable...I was going to list things started with power ups, but really everything.

Initially it was "hey this is a bad rip off of like Yu Yu Hakusho!" and then stuff happens and characters can suddenly fly and characters Ichigo defeated as a weakling can now defeat much stronger enemies like it's nothing and Kubo gets tired of drawing background so lets set this in a place where everything is white.

Thanks!

I'm watching Gurren Lagann right now. The dub is kind of annoying, but I don't see a way to put it on Japanese w/ subs. I'm assuming it's just subbed-only.

Went back and watched some bakemonogatari again.  Still so good.  Show never gets old.  Wish there were more dialogue exchange clips on youtube as the dialogue exchanges are the best parts of the show.  There's an exchange in Ep3 with Arraragi and Senjougahara where they are hanging out in a park and she's offering him favors and it's just amaaaaazingly well written comedy that keeps upping the ante.  Every ep has lots of "spit your drink" moments.

I really love the exchanges with Kanbaru most of all. And when Senjougahara asks Araragi to be clear about their relationship .. his answer is just perfect.

I don't think dubs are bad enough that I would willingly avoid or not suggest someone watch a great show because it's only available in dub.

Dubs have vastly improved the past 10 years and in some cases I'd rather watch it in English than in Japanese. For example, on my list, I think GitS: SAC, Gank, Samurai Champloo, FLCL, and a few others are actually better in English than Japanese. Especially SAC, since it has so much information to absorb, and watching it subbed can be tedious.

Bad, stiff, awkward voice acting.

Everyone sounds like a creepy porn actor/actress.

If only dubs sounded like saturday morning cartoons or stuff that runs on cartoon network it'd be all good.  Giant Robo original dub is like that.  A few of the Disney/Ghibli ones sound pretty good.

Moretsu Pirates continues to be everything that current, mainstream anime isn't: a deliberately-paced, lighthearted scifi adventure that doesn't shy away from employing techno-jargon and is almost entirely devoid of fanservice. That's all absolutely stunning, given its considerable budget.

@Bebpo

Yes, I saw it but it's been awhile so here is my 2 cents on the show:

It's good but not faithful to the source material so if you don't mind that then that price is a deal. Story is same old same one guy who is for some reason the only one who can pilot a specific robot etc. and the characters aren't anything special except for two characters (you will know them when you see them, especially THAT one) but overall, the action parts are what makes it special. It's Escaflowne like mecha badassery and everyone loves Escaflowne.

So yes, get it.

And even though these are cinematic movies there is still places for loli/underage characters with big boobs/nakes scenes just because/blahblah so try to ignore or endure them.

I want to buy it but I will get it with Sengoku Basara 1+2 this week.

I like The Third: Girl with the Blue Eye. It's got some likable characters, a great setting, and nice action scenes and animation. But it has the absolute most egregious use of disembodied narration I've ever seen. The narrater, who's just your average omnipotent narrater, pops in several times an episodes to tell what is BLATANTLY OBVIOUS TO ANYONE WITH EYES. It drives me absolutely insane.

*shot of black clouds on the horizon with a lot of lightning*

"A storm was approaching."

*main characters gets injured and her friends are worried*

"At times, silence can be more poignant than loud noise."

SHUT UP. JUST SHUT UP.
