What are coffee connoisseurs' opinions on Keurigs and similar coffee makers? I'm thinking about getting one.
It really depends on a couple of things. First off, do you want your coffee to taste like coffee or caramel lattes, gingerbread cookies, popcorn, dark chocolate, vanilla ice cream, and all other variations of shit that taste nothing like coffee?
If you want your coffee to taste like coffee and not all that other stuff, then don't buy a Keurig.
Second, do you like fresh coffee with beans that are less than a couple of months out of their roast date (yes, you can tell a difference)?
If you like fresh coffee, then don't buy a Keurig.
Do you ever drink more than one cup of coffee at a time or have someone with you that drinks coffee?
If more than one cup is going to be drank most of the time, then don't buy a Keurig.
Granted, Keurig does sell K-Cups that are just regular coffee and not all that flavored shit, but that is what their top seller is. I have been told that their coffee is better tasting than your standard cup of Maxwell House or Folgers. And yes, if you wanted more than one cup, you could always go back and make another, but that is rather time consuming.
I generally don't like Keurig stuff. I've tasted their coffee before and it was pretty meh to me like most supermarket coffees are. I try to stay away from stuff that has had a ridiculously long shelf life BEFORE it even gets to the store.
TL;DR I think Keurigs are a shit waste of money.
