yeah, it has a "Day One Edition." It's the roughest looking launch game shown for either platform, but they've committed to that date.

Both have strong launch lineups although neither has that standout game like a Halo, Mario 64, or Wii Sports. There's also free to play and indie stuff at launch, like Planetside 2 and Minecraft. I remember back in 2005 people were saying that Geometry Wars was the best 360 launch game.

On Android/iOS, they just check leaderboards versus unit sales. Some have the game do a small phone home.

That would explain why it got nominated as game of the show at E3. Still, I doubt it will reach 10+ million LTD. There isn't going to be much interest in the PS3/PS4 port a year after its launch and it's not going to sell well on PC if it's an Origin exclusive.

Im pretty sure it will get a PS3 port too since they chose the source engine because it's PS3 compatible.

I think GAF insider CBoaT mentioned it was a 1 year timed exclusive. Several news outlets have been hinting at it as well.

Destiny makes the most sense. Huge game, crazy production values, on four systems, '10 year commitment', servers to support MMO-like play, Peter Dinklage as your dronebro, etc.

then again, EA had to build the Titanfall studio (blanking on the name) from scratch, more or less, plus however much they paid to get the talent that left infinity ward.

I can only assume that such a budget was approved during the time when they thought the menace of used games had been defeated, and game sales were going to increase tenfold as a result.
