demo is about what I expected when I heard the Yakuza team was going to make a TPS. Doesn't feel right at all. Very floaty and janky feel. Animations suck, graphics are pretty weak, framerate is kind of terrible and sub 30fps at all times. Guns don't feel good, enemies are bullet spunges, and of course being Japanese you can stare at the girl's ass and she will make a comment about it.

There's literally nothing positive I can thing of. Better than that other Japanese Gears clone Quantum Theory that we all conveniently forgot? Probably, but that's not saying a lot. Faaaar Cry from Vanquish, which not only copied western shooters, but made them even better.

Yeah, it's unfortunate. Especially since, not to toot my horn, but I was the first OMG THIS NEW SERIES CALLED RYU GA GOTOKU IS GREAT GOTY NAGOSHI IS MY HERO EVERYONE TAKE A LOOK!! guy on gaf at the time. RGG1 was indeed my goty that year. Liked RGG2 a little less, Kenzan a little less than that, and didn't make it too far in RGG3 before losing interest and that was my last interaction with the series.

That said I liked the demo for Kurohyou and RGG4 sounds good. Disliked the OF THE END demo completely, and now disliked this BD demo just as much. I can deal with this team's jank when it comes to fist fighting but not when it comes to pew pew pew.

I liked it. Performance was terrible (PS3 demo) and hopefully the 360 version is better. Taken on its own, the movement and shooting don't compare to Gears. The squad gimmick is neat and the two levels were fairly open. I liked the style of it enough to not mind the unimpressive graphics.

And as someone who is sensitive about hp sponge enemies, I don't think that's the case with this game. It does the Dead Space thing where shooting out legs and arms is better than going for a chest or head shot. The best part about it was how much the enemies rush you and it feels like terminator where you're blasting off limbs and they're still crawling after you. Also funny how you can neuter the boss by taking out arms/weapons. Well I'd agree that the boss was a bullet sponge at that point.

360 version is a lot better than the PS3 version in performance. I tried out the voice commands with the headset and it works well enough. The problem is more with its limited set of commands than the recognition. Well, not limited, just not what you'd expect. You can say things like "CAIN, I LIKE YOU, IDIOT!" but not "Cain, flank the enemy from the left."

There are a lot of cool dynamics I didn't notice before. Each character, yourself included, has a limited number of health kits. Characters can use health kits to revive themselves or a teammate, meaning if you use all your health packs to revive a teammate, you rely on them to heal you if you go down. Or you ignore them and just heal yourself if you go down, and then you don't have a healthpack to heal one of them. It plays into the team trust system depending on how you react. If you're a prick, they might not risk their own lives to revive you.

Just finished this game. Fuck that was awesome, it took a while to get good but I couldn't stop once I hit Chapter 4 or so.

I assumed that when Dan was about to lay one on Faye the French robot would walk in and be like "OH MONSIEUR, WOULD YOU LIKE TO MAKE IT A MENAGE A TROIS?" but instead he booked and told the other guy to GTFO so the adults could get to the fuckin'

At first I thought Faye was gonna be a Hollow Child and I was like 'Ohhh man Daniel-san, you fucked a robot, don't feel bad, it's just like you were jerking off to internet porn' and then the game was like ACTUALLY SHE'S A HUMAN-ROBOT OFFSPRING and I was like WHAAAAAAAAT!

Just a terrific game, good core gameplay + good story / characters + awesome mecha design + BOSSES!!! A+++ for effort, so sad that this game will sell less than 10,000 copies
