I was given one of the original transformer primes for Valentine's, love it so far. This revision has a higer rez, and fixes the GPS issues some had. Luckily mine didn't have any of the issues some reported. I looooove it.

Still a bit curious to play with an iPad, if only to muck about wiht the interface. My only exposure to Apple has been trying to fixing my buddy's old iPhone 3G.

Was talking with Prole about this at lunch today. I think my my prerequisite for buying a new iPad is the ability to run games at FULL resolution and not pixel-doubled 1024x768. Not sure when they'll be able to do that.

That's a shame. I was gonna tell my dad to get one because it's "so much better" than ipad2. He's wanted to get one for awhile but not until there's a significant jump from the previous models. I guess now I'll tell him to wait for the inevitable quad-core version.

Does the new processor run much faster even without being quad-core? My dad is kinda anal about waiting for apps to work, which is why I installed him a SSD and lots of ram for his laptop. He also likes to open a whole bunch of windows. I was just thinking that he might as well wait for a quad-core version since it should be out in less than a year.

That's good but I just think he should get something that is a little more future proof if it's not too long a wait. He's most likely getting the 4g 64gb version which is pretty expensive.

You should take your mustang to an aftermarket modification shop. A friend in the industry told me that the mustang's engine has one of the highest potential for drawing extra horsepower. That would be so awesome if you can get it to 500-600.

after updating to iOS 5.1 on my 4S, it's saying 4G instead of 3G...what

I read up on it and apparently it's just AT&T calling 3G-something 4G, and then there's 4G LTE, whatever the fuck that is.

I cant tell the difference between 3G and 4G, having recently upgraded to a 4G phone- the commercials for 4G services are ridiculous...GET YER TEXT MESSAGES FASTARRRRR. Most carriers also cap download sizes so its not like you're using it for anything other than streaming music/video- which was fine over 3G....in fact I didnt notice much a difference in netflix quality on my 4G phone so whatever.

yeah, 500 is shelby range madness- but the trouble with that is you take it up that high and its suddenly not even really a car you want to drive around that much cause you're realistically getting like 10 miles a galon in city with a shelby right now- they say 15 but that makes me laugh.

there's no app start issues on even an ipad 1. the apps have tiny footprints, and the os uses suspend/resume patterns as opposed to traditional os priority multitasking.

I love how you can import RAW files from other cameras and view them on the iPad and possibly manipulate these files, on the go. I'd still want to use the robust apps on my PC but it seems like Apple are more open to the idea of turning the iPad into a tool instead of just a media browser.

Hey, I'm only recalling the time where I asked if I should register vacation days from my "comp time" before my PTO, and being laughed at because no-one would ever dare to actually use them up.

When I finally left the last place, I'd managed to use all but three of my days off. When my previous two contracts had ended, I literally had 30 days of saved PTO and comp, every time. It just was wasted, and erased.

As expected, the screen is the real star of the show. The rest of the package is a nice incremental upgrade but nothing that would really blow you away. But that screen. My god its amazing. I went back and tried to use my laptop and the difference was so noticeable.

I don't understand why laptops still seem to be using the same resolution as 5 or 6 years ago. I'd like to see Apple implement this technology into OSX and their macbooks in the future.

I'll be getting one of these in a few weeks, a 32 gig white one I think.
