What a terribly amazing game from germany yesterday? Didn't anyone catch this? Germany lead 4 - 0 against sweden until the 60th minute when the game completly changed and it ended finally 4-4. Germany played one of the finest offensive football I've ever seen from them. Granted, Sweden was weak on defensive, but the offense was both creative and technically brilliant. One the other hand, I can barely remember a team falling apart so quick and completly on the defensive than germany yesterday. Sweden was extremly efficient (4 goals from 5 chances), and a bit lucky because before the first and last goals there were scenes that could be seen as fouls but still, it was unreal how bad the defenisve from us was, both individually and as a team. I actually ended up having nightmares about the game  :-\ :lol

After the Euro, the game against Austria and now this game it is clear that germany is far from the top teams when it comes to defense and mental stability, even though the offensive can be beautiful when it's rolling. One key problem seems to be that they are not able to adapt to unexpected situations, which is to no small part the fault of Löw. All in all germany is basically the complete opposite of the past, where we played shitty offense (hell, there were times when we basically only able to score after set-plays - but we still made it to World Cup finals), but where mentally the strongest and had a tough and reliable, if conservative defense.

On a related, it's opposite world note, it seems like England has a stronger Keeper than Germany now. Joe Hart is fantastic everytime I see him while Neuer is really overrated, I stopped counting how often he was directly responsible for goals conceded in the last 2 years.

It was, in fact this was the first time in the history of the german team that they didn't win a game after a score of 4 - 0. I should have gone to bed after the first half, would have slept better  :lol

I was laughing after 4-0, then after 4-1 I thought "well, maybe we can lessen the shame a bit", and then it just got more and more crazy after that. huahua

Fair play to sweden, I think they played very nice in Euro too but got unlucky.

England cruising at their potential of mediocre team as always.

Netherlands won 1-4 against Rumania but the score doesnt really say much, I think Holland will have a few yeas relative slump till some big new names appear.

I blaming this mainly on germany's defense, but Sweden actually made some very nice adaptions, like Kacaniklic against Boateng who had so much space in the first half and than it's was his side in the second half where all goals were conceded. And Ibrahimovic really was icecold in the second half + that crazy jumping heel kick pass.

Here's how i felt when i woke up and i -knew- before i saw the reports on the game that a phrase akin to "controversial refereeing in Man U's favour" would make an appearance :

It's not like i even support a premiership team either.

The other annoyance is people who commentate -around- football. When Ashley Young was busy going down like he'd been hit by an invisible elephent in a few games in a row for united, these people were saying "Well, there's contact and it's in the box .... so penalty" ... NOW the same people are saying "There's contact but Torres has to stay on his feet" - it's the usual shite.

Personally, i think Torres made a meal of it - but he was clipped. So a yellow and subsequent red is utter balls. But then again, referees and people around the game of Football (which, lets not forget, is a contact sport) have brought this crap into the game where any contact with a player is deemed a foul especially in the penalty box.

As for the offside goal - looked a tough call without replays. Defender should have called and stuck it into row Z.

Oh and my Ipswich side is headed down - we look doomed already. Manager has gone and a report today from one of our loan players has him basically saying most the long term players simply don't care about the club. Reports of them going out boozing now midweek and then being "WTF is the problem?" about it.

7 points from 13 games - we are bottom of the Championship , 5 points adrift from safety - and the team there are TWELVE goals better off in GD. :/

And we lost AT HOME this weekend to the team that was second bottom - did i say lose? i meant "stuffed 3-0"

Who the hell are we going to get as manager? We've got some decent names being linked but until i see them at the club... (I would love to see Ian Holloway or Curbishley at the club, fuck Shearer - we need a MANAGER)

best UK comedy show in a long time. Peter Mannion was my favourite character this series especially as Malcolm had been drastically deballed. I hope it isn't done :(

yeah, Mick would be good - but sounds like we need to scrap everything and start again. Even if that means relegation, i'd rather weed out all the (reportedly senior) elements of the team that's ruining the club.

I'd rather have people who want to play their arse off for the club - even if it's just them putting themselves in the shop window to go on to better things. Rather that then people who don't care just going through the motions.

lol - the caretaker manager's record is absolutely awful - 30% win rate? uh oh. Our previous managers win rate was closer to 40% and the big damage to that was him being -at least- in over achieving low premiership teams and, of course, our record under him which was shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

First win in an age - beating Birmingham away which is a pretty good return!

4 pts from safety now, what with everyone else at the bottom losing. Mick needs just another win and a couple of draws over the form of the bottom few over the next handful of games and that 1 million quid bonus for avoiding the drop is in his back pocket.

Back in PL? oh god, it'd be a disaster with the team at the moment. I love the ONE interesting thing that Shearer ever said about anything :

"there's no easy games in the premiership.... um.... well, except for Ipswich at home"

Nice one DC, when was the last time Ipswich was in the PL?

the year i moved to Japan - so i missed it all - fromt 1997 onwards i moved to Essex to a) be with my (ex) fiancee  b) go to Ipswich home games

i went through all the pain and the year we went up i wasn't there to witness the glory - plus we finished 5th (FUCKING FIFTH!) in the premier league in our first year back.

Anyways, here - please relive our play off glory and fucking MARVEL at Marcus Stewart - the top English goalscorer in the 2000 season but nowhere near an england call up (usual MAN U/LIV/CHE/TOT/ARSE shitfest wank self cum chugging wankery of the England set up) :

Even the team that got relegated would twat the fuck out of our current team - fuck, here's us going 4-0 up vs Sunderland in the year we got relegated :/

whenever i hear the raw fucking noise of an English football game it makes me pretty homesick - there's nothing like the howl of an English crowd.

Premium : you know Ipswich have a HUGE dutch link right? Sir Bobby Robson brought in the dutch contingent - Thijssen, Muhren, D'Avary, Wilson etc
