Kid Icarus has been out a few months, so they should have a smash trailer up.  3ds will be mario, mario  activity(ies), animal crossing, and uhh black and white 2 mention.  Maybe announcing Fire Emblem localization.  New Super Mario Bros Mii and Pikmin 3 seem like good candidates for the Wii U.  Devs coming out to talk about the WiiU ports and how "awesomer" they will be.  Hmmm,  announcement of Retro's next project is likely, but I don't expect it to release soon.

I hope there's a segment about their online space the most.

While I'm sure there will be an E3 prediction thread, here are my guesses:

- The first round of Wii U software will be comparable with 2008 360/PS3 releases.  Nintards rejoice, the rest of the gaming world laughs.

- Nintards are baffled at industry insidahs like IdeaMan and ShockingAlberto because their predictions were so far off.  Some Nintards will make shit up to make it seem like these ninnies were right all along.  Other Nintards will want justice and the remainder will concoct new defense mechanisms to make these games seem comparable to the Xbox 3/PlayStation 4 games that will be shown.

- The Vita won't have shit.  The Vitatards out there will start screaming for a price drop + memory card but the rest of the gaming world knows the truth that the Vita is dead.  Future Vita releases will start to be canned, moved to the 3DS, or postponed indefinitely and so begins the Vita death march, fading away into obscurity and then cancelled when the PS4 launches.

- The PS4 will be announced, complete will the standard Sony fare of bullshots.  Sfags awaken from their three year slumber and start making those painfully obnoxious .gifs that they were wont to do from 2005-2009.  While Sony will aim for a more affordable console vs. the PS3, they will still overpromise and underdeliver, as per their policy since the PS1 launched in 1994.

- Xbox 3 will be announced.  It will be packed to the brim with social features, Kinect, and other crapola that I hate in mah vidyagames.  It will have a lot of Windows 8 connectivity, with phones, tablets, and PCs.  Microsoft is really making this push for cross connectivity recently so it seems foolish that the Xbox 3 will be exempt.  On the contrary, it will be their centerpiece.  The overarching goal is to get people to constantly play games on Microsoft products at all times (play Xbox 3 at home, play XBLA games on your phone/tablet outside of home, etc.)

- Nickel and diming schemes out the fucking ass, making horse armor a beloved memory by comparison.

He's said before the controller's changed, IIRC it was when Rayman Legends leaked and the vid used the E3/CES design. I believe he's also hinted it has NFC, and he said something really vague that I think confirmed USB 3.0 support. And some other stuff I don't remember since I don't follow the Wii U speculation carnivals.

I think lherre and Ideaman are as legit as Shiggy. As for Ideaman himself, he says he's a French gaming journalist which makes his story plausible considering the considerable leaks that came out of France/Ubi last year (hell Project Cafe itself was broke by French site 01net, as well as the Circle Pad Pro.)

Nintendo '08 is the single worst / most entertaining of the main three.

But Sony '06 is overall the best because of Sony '05.  The expectations Sony set in 2005 and the reality in 2006 made the entire fall that much better.

E3 2008 was when I lost my Nintendo faith. It was like staying up late on Christmas to see Santa and then finding out that Santa is really your dad and he's kissing a hooker underneath the mistletoe, and then when she leaves she runs over your favorite dog.

E3 08 was the turning point unfortunately. 2009 was actually quite good, and 2010 was awesome, but for most everybody, 2008 broke the camel's back. It doesn't help 2007 was really weak too. Two in a row was too much.

Connectivity was them trying to leverage the very popular gameboy brand to bolster the fledgling gamecube at the time.  I think the coolest use of it was tingle tuner, but yeah, the wii u can handle most of the practical applications that could ever occur from revisting the concept.

I remember Nintendo saying that online gaming is a fad and that GBA connectivity is the future and all of the LOLs that were pealed on the internets from that statement.  Little did people realize that that statement would be one of the more sane things Nintendo has said or done since 2003.  I blame Reggie.

The actual quote was something like 'customers don't care about online gaming'.  I think that was the Nintendo attitude you see to this day where they don't like to implement tech in their console unless their is a substantial portion of potential customers who can utilize it.  I think with the gamecube it was broadband not being as ubiquitous as it is today, with the wii it was low(er) hd tv adoption rates.

It's Sworcery, yeah. They're making a big production out of it, with remixed music and game celeb Japanese voice actors and such but not news for the western market at all. Those guys are super excited about it because it represents a meaningful step towards getting their own games made though.
