gaf is down so I don't know when it is.

Poorly hidden announcement is Splinter Cell Black List.  Looks to be Conviction 2.

I still haven't played Conviction.

I've never played a Splinter Cell game. I remember playing a demo of the first one on the original Xbox, but that was it.

Things this game has going against it, in my opinion:

- Game looks awful graphically
- No drunken Michael Ironside
- The HUD is absolutely terrible
- Airstrikes? What in the fuck
- WHAT DOES HE NEED NIGHTVISION GOGGLES FOR? IT'S BRIGHT AS SHIT OUTSIDE.

Maybe my standards are pretty low from Japanese HD games, but that looks pretty good to me.  Looks sharp and detailed with good character models.

This series peaked (tremendously) with Chaos Theory. Don't care for automated combat scenarios. (Re-)Play Chaos Theory instead.

Chaos Theory is a truly good game, and I am not a fan of stealth games

The soundtrack to Chaos Theory by Amon Tobin is amazing as well. In the game it's cut up and works on cues n stuff like you'd imagine a video game to do, but the OST is a great collection of music. there was a swell remix album as well.

yeah, PT introduced the spy vs mercs.  Chaos Theory improved it and added co-op (which is great too).

"Sam Fisher is no longer hiding in the shadows. He’s taking the fight to the enemies of the United States in plain daylight, and he’ll do it by any means necessary. Whether through more traditional, conventional stealth tactics, or by blowing everything up in sight, the notion of variety and choice dominates the landscape of Splinter Cell Blacklist. That’s a good thing considering the formidable task at hand."

I played the first Splinter Cell on gamecube, and it became one of my favorite games. I don't think I played any of the sequels though. At the time I thought the game's story was pretty interesting, and I loved the gameplay. Perhaps I'll get the second on for PC.

Remember ubisoft's 2010 e3 show?  So awesomely bad.  Didn't think anything would top that laser tag thing but then Konami came on immediately after with their one millron twoops, slappin' luchadores, and homo erotic engrish dancing.  2010 was a good year.
