I will admit that playing  it with a touch screen could help it though, especially the wizard.  Drawing blocks with a gamepad never felt right.  It really only works well with the mouse.

I think Nintendo crunched the numbers. Over 2 million pixels for Pikmin was just too many, and detracts from the whimsy. But 900,000 pixels? Perfect.

yeah, the system seems a bit more powerful than the PS3/360 but that power isn't really shown in screens.  From the conference video it looked like Arkham City is rendering on both screens.  Same with NSMBU.  It's like the hit 3D games get.  I wonder if playing it on the controller screen alone will bump up frame rate if it's only rendering at whatever low resolution it's at.

Also surprised that Nintendo didn't dump out some quick HD ports to fill out the lineup.  Skyward Sword: Unabashed or something.

Steam is one storefront with multiple levels of graphics and prices.  I think that makes it more effective at avoiding a stygma where every game has to be an expensively made full price title or its obvious shovelware.

It's really strange to see the selection of ports that the system is getting.  Shit like Batman and NG3 instead of this year's big hitters like COD and RE6, those might actually make an impact, and I could really see RE6 benefiting from the tablet.  The Wii U just confuses me, I just hope that the Japanese side of launch can make me actually interested in the damn system.

Watching Nintendo fansites talk about NG3 in a positive manner is kind of funny since it's more or less a known fact that the game sucks.

RE6 will probably hit Wii U in some form.  This is Capcom we're talking about here.  Plus I imagine there are more ports on the way.  Once the PS4 and Xbox 3 come out, those ports will probably dry up but until then, I could see quite a few PS3/360/Wii U multiplatform titles.  The 360 knock off controller will work well here.  That controller was one of the few things Nintendo didn't fuck up on.

I bet now more than ever Nintendo longs for the Wii heydays where they could release disposable junk like Wii Fit and Wii Play and have it sell millions of copies.  Now they're going to have to put an effort in and shit.  I was watching jarosh's 2008 E3 video and I had to LOL at how Nintendo seemed so dismissive and flippant about a demographic in 2008 that they're desperately trying to gain back in 2012.

I think it's that they seem to have easily port-able products. Guillemont said both their handheld (so 3DS, and Vita) as well as Wii U projects already are developed with the idea of mobile ports in mind.
