Just got paged in, sorry.
I'll be honest, I've never known all that much about ammo. I just throw what's cheap through my Sig Blackwater 1911 at some paper, and keep it loaded with whatever hollow point rounds the shop had at the time. I've only needed the one box, though I'm thinking about ordering something a little nicer and just shooting through what I have. It's been sitting around for a couple years, and I don't like that too well.
Good call on the Sig. I'm a fanboy myself, so I'm glad you didn't go with a glock. Now given, glocks will shoot come hell or high water (literally, there was a test and even when packed with sand, the fucking thing shoots), but I just hate the aesthetics of it. Looks like a blocky piece of shit. I'll stick to my Sigs, thanks. Just sold my Sig P6 9mm about a year or so back, and from what I hear it's doing pretty well in its new home.
The thing that SOME people don't realize is that you actually have to maintain your guns. Yeah, it's a tool. But if you throw your screwdriver out in the elements and never clean it, will it get messed up? Yup. If you leave your saw in the bed of your truck for a year or twelve, will it cut right? Nope. I've never had a single issue out of any of my guns due to use or wear. Not a speck of rust or discoloration. Because I actually clean my weapons. Regularly. Shit like that doesn't happen if you care for your stuff.
Imma go get my baby out of the car and post up a picture. Gimme a minute or two.
