But Virtua Fighter 2 and Panzer Dragon Zwei! :(

When everyone else was playing Mario 64, my friend and I were having Panzer Dragoon and Nights weekend marathons. 8)

Are there any good Dreamcast games that haven't been ported to other systems?
Border Down, Mars Matrix, Bangai-O, Cosmic Smash. The DC still has the best ports of Ikaruga, Under Defeat, and Gunbird 2 as well (and probably some other Psikyo games).

Genny > DC > Master System > Game Gear > 32X > Sega CD >>>>>>>> Saturn

You people liking the Saturn are clearly diseased

How do you put 32X over Sega CD?

Sega CD has:
-Lunar 1 and 2
-Popful Mail
-Robo Aleste
-Dark Wizard
-Sonic CD
-Shining Force CD
-Shadowrun (JP only)
-Willy Beamish
-Keio Flying Squadron
-Silpheed
-Eternal Champions CD
-Rise of the Dragon
-Ecco the Dolphin with the superior soundtrack
-NIGHT TRAP and a whole host of other shitty FMV games to laugh at

The Dreamcast was shit compared to Genesis and Saturn.  How the fuck can that even be argued?  DC was exciting for all of 2 years and then all the best games wound up on other systems when Sega collapsed in on themselves, and it was never a really great system unless you absolutely loooooved fighting games.

How is this any different from Saturn? By the time 1997 rolled around, Saturn was dead.

DC had more than fighting games as well.

lol creepy old guy

weren't you balls-deep in the nintendo 64 when the saturn came out?  that rich smell of the ex-nintard.  smells like... aged andrex.

Sorry to disappoint, but I was largely playing PS1 and pc titles back then.  I owned a 64 for Zelda and that's about it

...which just goes to show that the Saturn was, in fact, a jankopolis of massive proportions.  It didn't even have the awesome DC launch line up.  For fucks sakes, they "surprise launched" the fucker.  Only Sega would do that.

The Saturn had better exclusives that weren't ported to other systems.  That's pretty much all there is to it.

If Sega played their cards right, and actually kept the system ALIVE by the time I got a 32 bit system, I would have gotten a Saturn instead of a psx for Christmas 1997. I was a HUGE Sega fan, but the way they treated Saturn soiled them for me, especially after Nomad, 32x, and CD. You had to be a FULL ON BAKA to buy a Dreamcast like a year and a half later. Fool me once;etc.

Too bad Sony pulled out that FFVII magic trick. 8)

Almost every great Genesis game has been ported to other systems. Does this make it less of a great system? No? Shut the fuck up then.

getting hype for saturn when it was new = fail

getting that shit right after it crashed for cheap = win

get to play all the great games without holding out hope that the system wont fail. kind of like the dreamcast, cept with the dc everything got ported and everyone threw their system away.

To be fair, there were and still a lot of worthwhile games NOT ported. Also DC has the best versions of games that were ported like Grandia 2 and Shenmue II and Marvel vs Capcom 2.

Hell, only recently did we get an arcade perfect Soul Calibur, MvC2, or even VOOT, and we're just now finally getting a JSR port. So your point is pretty ineffective.

Outtrigger was good shit yo, even when you played multiplayer with the modem it was pretty damn playable.

Shame that Cyber Diver never got a home release.

I pulled the Dreamcast out of the tub the other day and noticed the top shell of one controller is yellowing SNES style. Anybody else getting this?

Also noticed the controller I got with the system is a different weight and build quality than the one I picked up later. (Thought about this on Himu's talk about mushy buttons, one has those, the other is snappy.)

Speaking of memories like the VMU's joyus glee, how many times have you guys had to reset your power supply?

I got my Dreamcast virgin roommates playing a bunch of stuff like Power Stone 2, etc. one hot hot summer and had to do it again and they thought I was going to kill myself.

It beeped all of the time when finding Cupils in Skies of Arcadia.

This thread reminded me of how U2K was going to relaunch the Dreamcast in 9/9/09 with hundreds of games, including a four disc GTA clone.  I want to find the GAF thread badly but can't find it.  Then I ran a search to see if I could get to it from Google and came across these:
