so basically, in summary, sony's tgs presentation was:- ps3, now uglier and with a bigger hard drive, price increase. software? uhh, hey, check out this rocksmith game- psp, price cut for japan only, buncha new games that have 0% chance of ever leaving japan- vita, new colors, headline first party game delayed to next spring, two crappy monster hunter clones besides, boob game, wii port, gundam game, we don't give a fuck
Bluepoint isnt workong on Sony Smash...? That is Superbrother or whatever
Wow, methodis hasn't posted at all in here, wonder what that means
(Image removed from quote.)OG PS3 is a BEAST.
If they're putting out another iteration of PS3 at this point in time does that mean no PS4 next year?
Now I really want to repair my system.
At this rate, the PS4 will have fake wood paneling.
Thanks for convincing me to go with that standalone BR player, Sony

Why ain't it on Wii U.
Quote from: Andrex on September 19, 2012, 11:27:46 PMWhy ain't it on Wii U. Why should it be? Serious question, not mocking.
Quote from: Andrex on September 19, 2012, 11:40:09 PMIt would probably sell enough to justify it. So, money for S-E. And I'd get to play it.Probably sell just as well on PS3, and it's considerably less work. Particularly if the WiiU is based on the same tech as the Wii/Gamecube, a PS2 port wouldn't be a quick and dirty project at all.

I still don't get it. Why would anyone want to buy that instead of the slim?
Dear Kaz, It pains me to see the direction PlayStation is going in. The software is unmatched, the hardware is solid, and the online ecosystem is forward thinking (PlayStation Plus). However, somewhere in the thinly veiled atmosphere of the console wars, the executives, mouth pieces, and absolute trashy decisions made by pencil pushers are destroying any good will put forth by SCEI as a whole. 1. Clarify the message. Instead of taking shots at the Wii U, 360 fans, and iOS devices, start talking about your strengths. The focus should be spent in interviews on the EXCLUSIVE software library, PlayStation Plus Value, and innovative features. Any opportunity to talk about Uncharted, God of War, Infamous etc. should be amplified. Consumers should be aware the best software library today is available on PlayStation 3 not on Wii U/Xbox or any other device. That message is lost. 2. Fire everyone in PR. The new PlayStation Slim 2.0 sounds like a price hike over previous models. A bundle could have been made including Uncharted 3, a Move Controller, and the already free Infamous 2 / Little Big Planet 2 at $299. Instead, we get poor communication and a neutered excuse to pack-in Uncharted 3 while raising the price. You lost all good will.3. Stop blowing your load early and showing up at every conference in existence. Before E3 2012, we knew about God of War: Ascencion, PSABR, AND The Last of Us. We knew just about everything coming forward at the conference. If there is one thing Nintendo, Apple, and Microsoft do right: they know how to suprise their audience. You could have won almost every E3 in the past few years by dropping the bombs. Instead? You announce God of War: Ascension to ho-hum affair a month early. You fucked that one up.4. Don't let any executive make direct comparisons to competitors. Shuhei does an excellent job of shutting the fuck up. Koller, Tretton, and the rest of the monkeys running the place could take cues. You have to cut the corporate fat. Fire these guys, fire the marketing team, and get people on board who are with the pulse of what is going on. Tenure means nothing if the ship is sinking. PlayStation needs to unite as a family, not come undone in rivalry.5. Treat exclusives as must-haves. PlayStation All Stars hits this fall, yet most people either don't know or don't care. Where are the special edition PS3s? Why am I not seeing cross promotions with fast-food chains? Is it really that hard to position your own exclusives as flagship products? Little Big Planet Vita will die this fall because you couldn't do anything special whatsoever with it. This is sickening. I might be brash, but it is without question the company has too many wings and no unity. Software, marketing, and development need to unite. PlayStation 4 is launching next year, the Vita is on it's last leg: We are all waiting for the master plan Mr. Hirai-Kun.
