How do you feel about Police/Pigs/Five-O?

Personally I feel like they really no longer protect and serve, it seems they are mostly busy harassing and douching. I don't get it, when did pigs go from protecting and serving to acting as if they have small dick syndrome? Maybe it should be requirement to specific size wang to join the police force, so therefore you wont have too many "my dick is small, so I gotta act as if I'm the greatest shit on the planet and you should obey me".

Fuck that, I hate pigs, they haven't done me any real favors. How about ya'll opinions?

Its a thankless job made even more thankless by broad generalizations created by the public regarding their integrity. Most of them are just doing their job- one that frequently requires possibly dying for someone they don't even know. Just like any system made up of people- there will be those that abuse their position- but letting those few contribute meaningfully to some larger opinion about law enforcement is kinda' simple.

Where I live (Suffolk county) cops are the highest paid in the country, in a county with minimal crime beyond disaffected upper-middle-class white kids shooting heroin and with some of the highest tax rates around. Not to mention, cops here almost always act like complete douches, one of my neighbors is a copper, he looks and acts like the most stereotypical dudebro you can imagine.

Unfortunately, nothing is gonna change any time soon because of all the racist white people around here (we are also one of the most segregated areas in the US...), they see a few more Hispanics immigrating to the area lately and want even more cops patrolling the streets.

I think the profession naturally attracts people who were asshole bullies as children and teenagers.  The problem really isn't so much the JOB as the people doing it.

here we don't have enough cops. the cops we do have are all tied up with paper work. the police academy accept a very low number of people because the budget for police is ass, but even still there are always more graduates than available positions. Hopefully following the bomb/shooting last summer the police budget will get a good boost, though it will probably be ear-marked for anti-terrorism or buying more helicopters or some bullshit that will have little effect in the grand scheme.

On a more personal level though, I tend to avoid police because they usually end up trying to poop on me.

Because any time I'm harassed it's over really dumb shit, or they talk to you as if you're inferior and as if you did something.

Example; I was checking my tires the other day and writing down the size, numbers, etc and one rolls by asking me why am I looking at the car and what am I doing as if I was doing something wrong... All I could think to myself was *uhhh piss off dude* I'm scoping out my car to have my tires replaced *as if it's any of your fucking business. You're just some overweight busy body douche w/ an ego, nothing more.*

It's a common trend, that's just the more recent one.

 I just can't stand being treated like I did something wrong when I haven't... This is just one incident. It's rare to have any of them help you out in any way... I've tried to use them as they are supposed to be use, call when needed, got jumped by 11 people and they never did anything about it even though I knew who put it all together and were it happened was were one lived... I mean, total lack of caring unless they can flex their dicks.

Friend of mine the other day got put in the back of the cop car forcibly because the cop thought she was being "a smart ass" when he asked her where she lived. Grabbed her arm (she's a tiny chick) and ripped her off of her bike and threw her into the car. The whole reason was because she didn't have a bicycle light on her bike, then left her with an $80 ticket. This sounds to me to be a douche bored, looking for a reason to be an asshole.

To me, it seems like they should be doing better things and handling shit that really matter.

nowhere does it imply that i believe the police are keeping me from living in a constant state of paranoia-i was simply playing along with the business based on what he had depicted so in that sense, it would be irrational to not be overprotective. put all the money you want on him, but if he's damn certain that in the state of "anarchy" which our society would erupt into if we were to wake up tomorrow and there was no police force protecting me from the seemingly countless number of people much like the business whose moral compass had disappeared along with any rational thought which had prevented them all along from being the ravaging beasts which nature had intended them on being, then he and along with everyone else would be risking their life as much as i’d be risking mine for staying in such an environment, hence the risk-reward assessment. if anything, with no police force to enact any of the laws our society have put in place, and assumingly the public doesn’t band together to protect their own neighborhoods and communities, there is a greater risk than before for not only me but anyone who crosses my path given that i could simply point my gun to his head for breaking into my house and suffer no repercussions other than the emotional turmoil i’d go through for having just killed a man as well as what i’d be signaling to my immediate neighbors, but i’m pretty certain they’d understand and would be supportive. there are very few people who can kill a man and walk away from it being unscathed so it isn’t exactly cheap even in a society with no laws. though, i do hope my wife is going to be that hot for him to willingly bet his own life on trying to rape her.

I've dealt with more than a few asshole cops, including being questioned for 5 minutes simply for walking across the lawn and checking the mail - I guess that's what I get for living across the street from a bank huh.

That being said, I think most police are decent people just trying to do their job and stay safe. There are assholes in every profession, especially those where authoritarian mentalities can best be expressed (police and military). With all that in mind you're always going to have more decent folks (Boogie) than assholes (The Business)

Drew is right. You drive on a road everyday where you are inches from death constantly. You aren't scared because you are licensed, trained, driver who understands the risks. It's the same with guns.

guns are actually MORE safe than driving a car, in traffic you have to worry about other cars hitting you or doing any other number of things people in cars tend to do. when handling a gun the only person you have to worry about is yourself.  just imagine there is a laser thats coming out of the barrel that burns through anything you sweep it over and keep your index finger extended and outside the trigger guard and you will pretty much be fine, those are the two most important things imo
