Welp....

The combat is definitely mashy, even on Nephilim mode, but it's definitely not bad. I'll have to give it a run on Son of Sparda and see what happens. The "feel of 60fps" stuff is still bullshit, it feels like 30fps to me, but it is responsive. Overall, it has a great chance of being better than any of the God Of War games' combat engines, but the other DMCs, NG1+2, Bayonetta, God Hand, etc. are all still on another level completely. Big points for not having QTEs-- this game looks like it would have a million of them, but there were none. My big complaint is that the graphics seem to get in the way-- I can't tell what the fuck those enemies are doing at any given time. But it didn't really matter because they were barely defending themselves. There wasn't a whole lot to put the move set to the test on Nephilim mode.
The Slurm Queen fight was pretty boring since she doesn't attack a whole lot.
I'm surprised at how good everything else is-- the platforming, environments, graphics in general-- there's good reason for it to be 30fps. All this stuff will take the cake over previous DMC games and probably a lot of other action games. And none of it feels janky or cheap at all. The platforming is what the Devil Bringer platforming in 4 should've been.
The environments are a lot more interesting...I actually can't wait to see what other crazy shit they threw together, graphics/environment/platforming-wise.
The story, dialogue etc. is typical teen power fantasy bullshit, as expected.
There was some tearing at the beginning of the demo and maybe some frame drops during gameplay, but I think it got overblown in the gaf thread.
Still gonna wait for the PC version though...this shit is begging to be run on a gaming rig at actual 60fps.
Edit: let me clarify, i'm eating crow because it's not completely terrible and has none of the hallmark shit stains of Ninja Theory's other games so far.
