I wish there was a Facebook just for your family.

 I would like to stay connected with them in a general sense since we are all so far apart. But it appears once you join you have this pressure to friend all your former classmates, cousins, workmates, etc and on and on until you have this crazy amount of people you don't give a fuck about.

I guess you could do it with Google+, but it seems like no one wants to sign up for it.

Google+ will remain a social graveyard no matter how hard Google tries to force it on users

FB offers a lot of control of who sees what and when.

You can add people but then decide just how much you want to show them and lock them out of most of your profile. I have 5 user tiers on Facebook all with different settings So I'll add old schoolfriends etc but they're pretty much hidden from my view.

Same with some family members who are morons, but I have to add to keep the peace. The great thing is this extends to the chat settings too.  So anyone I wish to avoid talking to it looks like I'm never online.

I hate when people pretend a piece of media doesn't exist because they don't like it. "Star Wars prequels? What prequels? I sure wish we got more Star Wars movies, too bad we only got three! Am I right guys?" 

Stupid internet people. We get it, you don't like it. Pretending it doesn't exist doesn't make it go away, your quips aren't funny, and it existing doesn't diminish your love or respect for the original. Get over it

In ages past you would never be exposed to so many opinions so it's only natural there will be lots of things you don't agree with.
