Fox News responded in a statement given to Mediaite, saying:

We learned from a secret back channel that the Ayatollah and Putin both intend to treat Donald Trump unfairly when they meet with him if he becomes president — a nefarious source tells us that Trump has his own secret plan to replace the Cabinet with his Twitter followers to see if he should even go to those meetings.

President Barack Obama will meet with Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders on Wednesday at the White House, less than a week before the first-in-the-nation Iowa caucuses.

The Oval Office meeting will be informal and has no a set agenda, White House press secretary Josh Earnest said in a statement Tuesday. Sanders and the president discussed the possibility of meeting in December during a congressional holiday party, Earnest said.
Obama finally standing up for progressive causes with huge endorsement!

Odd that he chooses a virulent racist as his vehicle though.

When Krugman writes about subjects that are outside his expertise he's really just your garden-variety liberal on the internet. He has one idea, which is that the republicans are very, very bad. I can agree with the sentiment but he never says anything past that.

Yea just pisses me off when he leaves out things to make his arguments stronger. He's a smart dude, he doesn't need to be doing that shit.
ex. talking about labour force participation rate vs. unemployment rate and then leaving the former out when he wants to shit on Repubs and defend President Obama

When not organizing for Sanders, Rhodes is a Web developer and the founder of NoFap, which he described as an online community dedicated to helping people recover from addiction to pornography. He said he was inspired to create the site based on his own experiences.

Rhodes said he hopes to keep recruiting volunteers from Reddit as the primaries continue. Because of this, he has come up with a name for the project as it extends beyond Operation Iowa. Rhodes is calling his Reddit recruitment operation the “Sanderstorm.”

“The people who are helping me — they’re actually called Sanderstormtroopers,” Rhodes said.

Trump was right to skip the debate, Fox moderators had the knives out tonight. They had contradictory tape on Rubio and Cruz and asked them to explain themselves, Marco came out okay, Cruz looked a bit shaky (and had the most seemingly egregious fibs of the night).

-Carson is toast (nothing new there)
-Kasich rambles
-Jeb was surprisingly strong
-Christie was there
-and Paul had his best ever night.

Its weird, it was almost a substantive debate. The questions were tough-ish. The answers were a bunch of dodging about how they all essentially agree with each other about everything (minus Paul), but the pantomime of respectable political discourse was well performed tonight.

Trump must have known ahead of time that Kelly was going to be playing tapes of previous comments from candidates.

Another bad, repetitive debate. I thought Rubio did well until the immigration bomb. The tape was damning, and then him and Bush got into a weird argument over who flip flopped on the pathway to citizenship first. Wow.

Carson is still terrible at this, wow. Cruz was playing defense a lot, and it wasn't pretty. The tape Kelly played also exposed his hypocrisy.

Kasich was basically the only guy who said non-insane stuff more often than not.

SHE WONT GET WITHIN TEN MILES OF THE WHITE HOUSE!!

Fucking shut the fuck up. I am no Hillary stan but if a woman acted half as angry as Christie everyone would be saying she's a crazy bitch.

I thought Bush and Paul did really good but I only caught the second hour of the debate. Rubio and Christie can have lots of charisma but I didn't see them show it at all tonight.

A few months back here, someone had a great insight on how people will automatically couch things in terms with which they themselves feel most comfortable. It's a variation on "when all you have is a hammer, every problem  looks like a nail." I guess if your favorite tool is a hammer, the same can be said.

Someone who went to college was arguing with me the other night that we shouldn't worry too much about Planned Parenthood because uncle Bernie will bring about single payer and Planned Parenthood will be irrelevant.  And people wonder why Bernie is popular mainly with white dudes :beli

On Sanders' FB page, they posted something about wage equality, and two of the top liked comments are #wellactually from his supporters.

Again, the guy and his actual campaign are much better about this stuff than a certain subset of his supporters (and it's not like they weren't around before he started running), but there's definitely a problem here.

I assume the fact that he's currently the only one directly running against a women helps gather those people under his umbrella. Even the "libertarian" MRA/GameGaters/whatever can swing over on Bernie for social/foreign policy/etc. issues and the "he can win Iowa and NH" factor for an excuse.

I mean, I might as well vote for Bernie if he's still competitive by the primary date as Paul will likely be dead by then. If I were to vote. Hypothetically.

I imagine they will become Trump supporters in the general, rather than back Hillary. Even the ones who are internet socialists.

I grew up as a strict constitutionalist. Let’s say my brother got caught with a pack of cigarettes in his room and my mom went to punish him. My dad said, “What are you doing in his room? You can’t punish him, you didn’t have jurisdiction to do the search.”
Stopped reading right there.

Ok, I couldn't help myself. Thankfully not everyone there is a weirdo, but this guy stood out to me...

Quote
Ted Cruz is the most conservative guy in the bunch and he’s frankly the smartest guy in the bunch. I was leaning toward Rand Paul until Rand started to give me the impression that he was a little soft. Largely, the reason why I’m a conservative is because I’ve been on public assistance my whole life, and I have always felt ashamed of it. I have two major health conditions — cerebral palsy and an injury to my left hemidiaphragm. The whole idea of welfare and entitlements is to create a permanent underclass. They’ll give you plenty of handouts, but they won’t give you any hand-ups.”
So, he thinks someone will find a job for him if welfare goes away?

The way they see Trump is amazing. One guy thinks he's a mix of Kennedy and Reagan. One woman practucally says she fell in love with him, "the Ford of our time."

It's so ridiculous it has to be cherrypicked. The entire thing is quote-worthy.

A lot of the Trump supporters give me the feeling that they had their life dreams dashed at some point and need someone to pin the blame on. It makes sense that they'd see somebody even as ridiculously fake as Trump as a beacon of hope and all that since he's far from either establishment and blames a lot of problems on foreigners.

I’m deciding between Jeb, Kasich, Trump.

...

Trump’s unique. He’s qualified. He has executive experience. He’s created jobs — not just on a national but on an international level. A lot of people are worried about some of the things he says. And rightfully so. But it’s difficult to overlook the fact that people are supporting what he’s saying. I mean, when it comes to the Muslim temporary ban, 80 percent of those polled actually agreed with what he said. That’s a strikingly large number. I think he’s a serious contender. I personally think we have bigger issues to deal with right now. But what he’s saying does spark a debate. It does allow the country to talk and ideas to flow.

Only potential Trump supporter I found who actually acknowledges that the dude might be a really real racist. Is it possible that the rest are also in that 20%?
