Even with Trump sucking up all the oxygen, it's remarkable how little discussion there is of a SCOTUS seat just sitting open for a whole year.
Would not be surprised at all if the GOP finds some public reason to indefinitely avoid a vote on Clinton's pick. "After an election where she failed to win half the popular vote or get a mandate, the President chose not to reach across the aisle and nominate a qualified judge with bipartisan support (ie a Federalist Society member), but rather chose an unqualified radical (nonwhite person) after seeking no Republican input, in a clear effort to further politicize the court."
Meanwhile, maybe Democrats could stop getting their asses handed to them at the state level? Dunno, maybe it would help.
