It's a decent album.
It's no Loveless but it's refreshing from the rest of rock made today, and it scratches a very much needed itch. On the other hand, I think they went too shoegazy in this. The songs are almost all too long, and maybe it's because I haven't heard it without a shitty pair of headphones but the composition isn't up to snuff nor as memorable as Loveless either. 5-6 minutes for every song is insanely long. Compared to Loveless, which is full of energetic tracks that are three minutes long. MBV feels too long in the tooth and too grand. By the end of the album, I was drained and yet I can't really remember any particular tracks off the top of my head.
Will give more listens with proper speakers before I make a full judgement. One thing I love though, is the backend of the album. The tail is awesome.
