The cover and title are kinda dumb but who cares it's more MBV. I really hopes this album turns out to be good.

It's a decent album.

It's no Loveless but it's refreshing from the rest of rock made today, and it scratches a very much needed itch. On the other hand, I think they went too shoegazy in this. The songs are almost all too long, and maybe it's because I haven't heard it without a shitty pair of headphones but the composition isn't up to snuff nor as memorable as Loveless either. 5-6 minutes for every song is insanely long. Compared to Loveless, which is full of energetic tracks that are three minutes long. MBV feels too long in the tooth and too grand. By the end of the album, I was drained and yet I can't really remember any particular tracks off the top of my head.

Will give more listens with proper speakers before I make a full judgement. One thing I love though, is the backend of the album. The tail is awesome.

$22 for the CD seems way too much, but I don't care. Loves me MBV.

So this is a big deal huh? I guess it would be like if Nas never released an album after Illmatic, and just today released a second album?

i could see it possibly being like that, but i'm assuming not as many would care given how the industry has shaped our expectations when it comes to rap artists who continue to release work following the release of their magnum opus. the rap game is too dependent on the current which isn't true for certain genres, such as rock which as a whole isn't focused on the "now" making it far less constricting, e.g Kid A.

i'm not saying it wouldn't be a big deal, because there would be a lot of excitement surrounding the release if that were the case, it's just expectations wouldn't be as high in comparison to M B V.

the only album i can see topping MBV for AOTY is The Knife's, especially if Full of Fire is any indication.

I thought the Knife's new song sucked. It was overly long, pretentious, and very boring for The Knife. The fact the album itself is said to be a 90 minute behemoth doesn't sit well with me.

Knife's new song is great. last three songs on MBV are great. That's my input.

a lot of people say they killed shoegaze with their last one, so maybe even bigger than that, relatively speaking... but I was 8 or something when the first one dropped so I can't (and won't) pull some weird surly cred measuring contest, this is just what I've heard from older people etc.

M B V is pretty good but it's standard MBV. Foxygen is fresh on my mind. *kanyeshrug*

"More News From Nowhere" off DLD is the high point of that album for me, and the video features a hilariously porn-stached Cave.  But yeah overall, album wasn't that great.  This shit though...
